I've been wanting to try this place for a while, after hearing recommendations from friends, my little sister, and reading good reviews on yelp. I finally got a chance to try it this past Sunday.

The place is very small, and a hole-in-the-wall type place.  The menu offers quite a few items at pretty cheap prices. The menu can be found online, but here is a quick snapshot of the one posted on the restaurant window:

Boyfriend and I each got combination #3, which let's you choose two meat curries, rice, naan, and kheer. I chose chicken masala and lamb curry.  Boyfriend got the lamb vindulu and chicken makhni. The guy at the cash register was pretty friendly.  We waited for a few minutes before our order was ready.

There are a couple of tables inside and a few outside, but not much seating. The inside seems a bit run down. Boyfriend and I got our order to go.

Here is the chicken masala and the lamb curry.  Both had lots of chunks of meat.  A lot of flavor and as good as curries I've had at fancier Indian restaurants.  The rice was too soft and mushy for my taste though.

The naan that came with the meal was a little burned at the bottom.  So while I really enjoyed the curry, I didn't have much to eat it with because I didn't like how the naan was burned and I didn't like how mushy the rice was.  Both the lamb curry and the chicken masala were sweeter curries.

This is the lamb vindulu and chicken makhni.  Also filled with lots of chunks of meat.  The flavors were stronger and a tiny bit spicy.  I liked these curries as well.

For dessert we had the kheer.  A nice finish to dinner.  Sweet, but not too sweet, and very light tasting.  My favorite kheer has been at Royal India.  This one was not as good, but still enjoyable.

Overall, pretty good experience.  It's cheap and fills my Indian food craving. The naan and rice were a bit disappointing though.

  1. Hi MrM- Delhi Kitchen looks delicious and very cheap. I just looked at their website. Thanks for the rec!

  2. That looks about like a little place I go to near work called Delhi Kitchen in Carmel Ranch.
I’ve heard good things about this place too, but I am a great fan of Delhi Kitchen. Non-mushy rice and they don’t burn the Nan in the Tandoor as often (its hard not to because the Tandoor is very hot).
I am a fan mostly because the Mom and Daughter that serve there are very nice. I generally get the Veggie combos which are delish.
