Last time I was in the Bay Area, my family had plans to go to Hot Pot City Milpitas, but ended up not being able to go.  I’ve been wanting to go ever since.  So even though the weather has warmed considerably, I was still in the mood for hot pot on my last visit.

Because we had taken some time off, we chose to go on a Monday for lunch.  Dinner is normally $16.99, but lunch is only $10.99 a person.  The set up is buffet style.  Each table of four people is given a hot pot and a grill.

There is a cart full of different ingredients to create your own sauce.

They have lots of raw ingredients for you to either grill or put in the hot pot.  The meat for grilling is already marinated.  There is lamb, chicken, beef, pork chops, spareribs.

The lunch has a smaller selection than dinner ingredients, but I didn’t notice many ingredients missing.  There was lamb, beef, chicken, pork, frozen tofu, fresh tofu, fish, frief tofu, shrimp, noodles, fish balls, dumplings, pork blood, intestines, bok choy, pea sprouts, napa cabbage, bean sprouts, mini sausages, seaweed knots, noodles, glass noodles, imitation crab legs.  There’s probably a few things I’m forgetting.

The meat was really well marinated on our last visit.  I ended up eating way  more grilled meat than I should have. I was so overstuffed by the end.

For dessert, they have a shaved ice bar.

For $10.99, this is definitely the way to go if you are craving hot pot.  The korean styled marinated meat makes it even better.  We all left feeling really full.  If only there was something like this in San Diego!

  1. Yup, 10.99 for AYCE. The grill part is the aluminum foil thing. And you can still get a sear on your meat. Wait, the lunch special includes the soup base fee?? I was charged for the soup base fee. grrr

  2. Is it AYCE for $10.99??!! WTH!!! San Diego sucks man…j/k…(kinda)
The food looks quite good! So the grille part is on the aluminum foil thing below the hot pot? Can you still get a good sear on the meats that way?
I went to Lil Sheep Hot Pot for lunch yesterday and their lunch special really is awesome. It’s pretty generous for $9.95 (and that INCLUDES their lame soup base fee too!).
    Nice post!
