Peanut Butter Crunch Brownies

Peanut Butter Crunch Brownies are so easy to make with brownie mix and three other ingredients. They are rich and fudgy with crispy texture like a candy bar. They are an easy brownie recipe to make when you’re craving chocolate.

Yes, I made these brownies because of the name. How could I resist? They sounded so good – Fudgy brownies layered with peanut butter and chocolate with crispy rice cereal. They remind me of crunch bars but in brownie form.

I found the recipe from How Sweet It Is. The original recipe actually has even more going on, with layers of peanuts, and Reese’s peanut butter cups. I ended up leaving those out but these still tasted pretty good and they are easy to make.

Brownies with Rice Krispies

I love to make homemade brownies, but I decided to use brownie mix to make these super easy. You only need a few ingredients!

The brownies are topped with peanut butter and rice krispies cereal coated in chocolate. Once it cools it creates a crispy chocolaty layer on top.

I used my Baker’s Edge Brownie Pan* for this recipe because I love that every piece has chewy edges. You can use a 9×13″ baking pan if you don’t have one.

How to Make Them

Make the brownie batter following the package instructions. Spread the batter into the prepared pan and bake the brownies for 20 to 25 minutes.

When done, take them out of the oven and spread the peanut butter on top while they’re still hot. Place the pan back in the oven and bake them for four to five minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

While they finish baking, place the chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt them in the microwave and then mix the melted chocolate with the cereal.

Spread the chocolate mixture over the peanut butter layer and then chill the brownies in the refrigerator until the topping is set and the brownies are cool.

Storage

Once the brownies are cool, you can slice them into squares. Keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for two to three days. Or you can keep them in the fridge for a few days longer.

  1. I see that you’re looking for a great brownie recipe and I’m not the biggest brownie fan, but this recipe on my blog is definitely my favorite brownie ever! They’re thick and chewy and would be great with add-ins, like chocolate chips, etc. Don’t know if you’re interested but just wanted to put it out there 🙂
