Adorable cupcakes from Elizabethan Desserts
Elizabethan Desserts offers some of the most adorably decorated cupcakes I’ve even seen. They are not only cute, but they have clever names as well. Where else can you find a pistachio cupcake called The Mustachio adorned with a mustache?
The location is interesting. It’s actually located inside a nursery. Once you arrive, there are several signs to direct you towards the bakery. The bakery makes everything from scratch and they offer cupcakes, pies, and cookies.
The cupcakes come in both mini and full sized ones. I chose to get mostly minis so I could sample more.
Once we got our cupcakes, we took them outside to the patio area which has quite a few tables. I took a few photos before digging in.
Here is the black beauty. (Chocolate cupcake with a blackberry chocolate ganache)
Churro cupcake (A cinnamon cupcake)

Monkey Business (A banana cupcake with caramel drizzle)

The plain jane.

This simple white cake is beautifully decorated. I simply adored the name and design.
The mustachio (pistachio chocolate cupcake)
This was FH’s favorite in terms of design. He got a great kick out of the mustahche.
Beez Kneez (chocolate cupcake with honey buttercream)

Overall, we enjoyed the cupcakes. They weren’t the most memorable in terms of taste and flavor, but they are worth a trip, just for the decorations.

The mustachio is my favorite as far as designs too. Simple yet cute but the plain jane is very cute too.

I think the mustachio is funny. heehee. The plain jane, I think what makes it so appealing to me is that it’s so pretty and then its called “plain jane.” Something about that combination just really appealed to me

Those cupcakes are adorable! I’ve been going to Sprinkles in La Jolla, and it’ll be nice to try some of the more local bakeries around.
Also I have a question. Have you heard any rumblings that Liang’s Kitchen (Liang Mama Jia from the LA area) is going to open on San Diego? This Taiwanese lady told me and I read a Chinese newspaper article saying it was going to open on 7/1, but I haven’t heard anything yet.

I go to Sprinkles a lot too, but I like to mix it up as well and I really love how they decorate the ones at Elizabethan. I have not heard anything about Liang’s Kitchen opening in SD. That would be wonderful if it is true. I’ll keep my eyes and ears open. I don’t read chinese newspapers and usually get information from my mom. You might want to check with Kirk of mmmyoso. He might know something.

It’s so simple, yet so cute. I may have to try decorating some cupcakes this way soon.
