Kirbie's Cravings

Giveaway

Update: This giveaway is now closed. Random.org chose comments #1 and #9. Congrats to Ada and Regina!

Are you one of the lucky people to have Friday off? Or are you like me and stuck at work? Well to help ease the day for those of us miserable at work, I thought I’d start Friday off with a giveaway!

With the holidays approaching, I have a few giveaways lined up. So stayed tuned for more. Today, I’m giving away two copies of the book “My Two-Year-Old Eats Octopus: Raising Children Who Love to Eat Everything”

When I was contacted by the author, Nancy Tringali Piho, to see if I was interested in giving away a few copies of her book, I was immediately intrigued by the subject concept of her book. As someone who loves to try all types of food, I definitely worry about having a child that will be a picky eater.

Growing up, my parents were pretty strict about our eating habits. We weren’t allowed to be picky. We had to eat everything put in front of us. It helped that my parents set a good example. They ate everything too, so we could never point out that they weren’t eating something they were making us eat.

It worked out well. My mom can proudly tell her friends that her kids eat everything whenever a friend or relative who is treating us to a meal asks her what her kids eat.

Of course I realize this method may not work for everyone. So I am curious to see what other methods other parents use. I haven’t yet had a chance to sit down and really get into Ms. Piho’s book. I’ve only just started the book, but I’ve found it interesting so far. (And how adorable is the kid on the cover?) It appears her book is a mix of her own personal experience, research and studies, as well as offering advice. You can find out more about the book and author here.

Entering the giveaway is easy. Simply leave a comment at the end of this post, telling me the most exotic/unique/crazy food item you’ve ever eaten. I will use random.org to generate two numbers. I’ll contact the winners via email and ship them the book. Please note, this giveaway is only open to US readers. Deadline to enter is November 18, 2011. Good luck!
