Chewy Nutella Cookies

This weekend I went to Costco and stocked up on bacon and Nutella again. My supply was getting dangerously low and it was making me anxious.

As soon as I got home, I opened a new jar Nutella to make some recipes. I had bookmarked this chewy Nutella cookie recipe weeks ago, and I finally got a chance to make it. I love chewy cookies, and these are very chewy cookies. Once they finish baking, they flatten quite a bit while cooling. The end result is a fudgy, chewy, cookie. Delicious.

The original recipe calls for mini chocolate chips, but I thought they would get lost in the cookie so I used regular chocolate chips instead and I also upped the quantity. I will say the Nutella flavor is a bit light. I don’t know why as there’s a whole heaping half cup of Nutella in the recipe. But they are still really tasty and I would definitely make it again.

  1. Tried this just now. Cookies turned out beautiful and yummy! Thank you for sharing.

  2. I just made these this morning. The recipe yielded almost 3 dozen using a TBSP-sized cookie scoop. They just cooled so of course I had to taste one…delicious! Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, although perhaps I should have baked them for 8 minutes instead of 7. Thanks for the recipe!

  5. hi kirbie! i’m new to your blog and i love everything you have on it including the nutella recipes! just 2 questions though, i’m still an amateur baker and was wondering what you meant by folding in the chocolate chip cookies, and is there a difference between the ingredient vanilla and vanilla extract?

    • Hi Andrew! Folding means to use a spoon rather than the mixer so it doesnt crush the chips. The motion is sort of like, scooping some dough up, folding it on top, in a continued motion until chips are mixed in the dough somewhat evenly. Vanilla is usually an artificial vanilla flavoring, whereas vanilla extract is extracted from vanilla beans. Hope this helps!
