Introducing DH…

As many of you know, my life has been extremely busy these last few months as I planned my upcoming nuptials.
Well I can happily tell you that it’s all over now and FH (“Future Husband”) is no more. If I had actually thought ahead when I made this blog I would have picked a name I could consistently stick through in this blog when referring to my significant other. Instead, his name has gone through reincarnations of BF (The Boyfriend”), FH (“Future Husband”) and now what should be the last change: DH.
It took me a while to decide what to do. I thought about keeping it as FH and just changing what it meant. People suggested fabulous husband or forever husband. I thought of using the popular one “The Mister” which would be easy and clear and no one would need to read the About Us section to figure out who he was. I also considered ones like SO (‘Significant Other”), OH (“Other Half”) and MK (“Mr. Kirbie”). In the end though, I chose DH, which can stand for many things, but I like to think it stands for “Dear Husband” which is a play on Hello Kitty’s husband Dear Daniel.
We had Hello Kitty and Dear Daniel as our cake topper at our wedding so it seems fitting to refer to him as Dear Husband.
I’ve purposely kept the wedding planning and experience out of the blog until now. I wanted to wait until it was all over to talk about it, so over the next few months, I do plan on sharing aspects of the wedding (like the food), my learning experiences for other future brides, and my thoughts on various wedding vendors. Until then, here’s a sample of DH’s artwork:

Congratulations. The art with the shadow is perfect. I want to know more about the cake-it looks like the bottom layer is pink, so different flavors?
Kirbie replied: — July 13th, 2012 @ 3:42 pm
We originally had planned different tropical fruit flavors for each layer but the cake ended up all being passionfruit curd filling. Not sure why the color looks different, I think maybe just the lightin from the pic. It was really yummy though
