Personalized Wedding Gift Ideas with Target

This post is sponsored by Target, but the writing, ideas and opinions are all my own.

Target recently launched a Wedding Program, asking bloggers to give ideas on ways you can give a unique wedding gift while still sticking to the couple’s registry. The central theme of this program is, “Be Yourself, Together.”

I’ve definitely reached the stage in my life where most of my friends are either getting married or having babies. I’m always trying to figure out ways to personalize wedding gifts when it comes time to give something to a really close friend. While I want to get them something they want on their registry (I know how important mine was to me), I don’t want to blindly just choose a gift. I want it be special and hopefully something they will keep for a long time.

To help accomplish this, the first thing I usually do is go through the wedding registry. I look for gifts that I think the couple will be able to use for a long time (KitchenAid Mixer, Keurig Brewer, Cast-Iron Dutch Oven, Stainless Steel Cookset, and Kitchen Aid Food Processor are usually my top choices), items I know that the person really really wants or something that has significance in my personal relationship with that person (i.e., if my friend and I both love baking together and she puts a KitchenAid mixer on her registry, I will get her that).

Once the item is bought, I try to add something a little extra to make the gift even more memorable. If possible, I might include engraving to the wedding present. Sometimes it might be  another item that pairs with the main gift that can be personalized. For example, one of my friends gave me a baking gift and then also included a personalized measuring spoon set.

I recently bought a friend a Keurig machine. In addition to loving coffee, she also loves tea. Keurig is great for heating up hot water for tea. So in addition to buying her the machine, I bought some canning jars and then added my own personal blends of tea leaves that included a mix of flavors I thought she would enjoy.

If you have any great ideas on how to personalize wedding gifts, please share! Also if you’re looking for my ideas, you can find other blog posts by searching #TargetWedding. I’ve read quite a few helpful posts already.
