Sage Cake Bakery

Sage Cake Bakery is a Japanese French Bakery offering a variety of cakes.

After my lunch with CC, we decided to stop in for dessert. It’s been a very long time since I’ve visited. I used to frequent it for birthday cakes. The cakes are on the expensive side but they are generally quite delicious, and usually light and not overly sweet.

Mistral

This was my choice. I was in the mood for something light and fruity and this hit the mark perfectly. Delicate layers of vanilla bean cake, with a strawberry mousse in the center. It was garnished with fresh fruit.

Chocolate Mousse

This was CC’s choice and we traded bites. This was rich, creamy and melt-in-your-mouth.

Neither of us finished our desserts and asked for to-go containers. Not only were we given boxes but we were also given dry ice so that the cakes wouldn’t melt!

Overall, I had a nice time here. It’s been a while, but the cakes are as enjoyable as they were before. You can read CC’s account of our visit here.

  1. We love FSC! They’re exactly like the desserts available at every train station in Japan (that sounds almost like an insult, if one didn’t know that almost every train station and grocery has some sort of amazing bakery closeby!). We make sure to grab something when we’re in that area.

    • Oh that makes sense. I haven’t had the experience in Japan, but there’s delicious bakeries near the subway stations in Taiwan.

  2. Sis and I still love the Elby here. We just can’t get over how pricey each dessert item cost. I’ve always been fascinated how the owner handles the piece of dry ice (that he puts in dessert box) w/ his bare hands. Crazy but impressive.

  3. Both of our cakes were delicious! Thanks for a fun lunch/dessert meetup!
