Table No. 10

Table No. 10 opened just a month ago but has already generated a lot of positive feedback. We were recently invited to check out the new restaurant and after one visit, it’s already become one of my favorite downtown restaurants and we can’t wait to return.

The menu starts with an innovative cocktail list. I can’t remember the last time I read a cocktail menu and wanted to try every single drink on it. While I was especially intrigued by a duck fat infused cocktail, for this visit, we chose to share the Flux Capacitor. I do have a weakness for pretty drinks and it made for a nice photo.

Flux Capacitor

As promised, our drinks arrived in a bubbling beaker, like out of a science experiment.

It was sweet, smooth and strong, and a great way to start the evening. Next time I’ll be a little more adventurous.

Crispy Chicken Skin, Salt, Sherry Vinegar

The menu encourages a sharing dinner experience and we complied by ordering solely from the Bites and Small Plates sections. We both love chicken skins and this was a nice little snack. The bowl held plentiful pieces of crispy chicken skins, sprinkled with salt and vinegar, taking salt and vinegar chips to a whole new level.

Crispy Pork Belly Deviled Eggs

When we heard the daily special deviled eggs would be pork belly, we had to order it. I found these a tad too salty and it was definitely hard to finish with only two of us.

Scallop, Pork Belly, Sunchoke, Coconut Cream, Natural Reduction

This has been a customer favorite and I could immediately taste why. The scallops were perfectly seared, exploding with flavors when you bite in. The pork belly looked a little overdone, but it was actually quite moist and tender and carried a smoky flavor.

Mushrooms, Grits, Grilled Sweet Onion Vinaigrette, Parmesan

We didn’t really care for this dish, though I did like the Parmesan foam. The grits were prepared plain and accompanied with mushrooms which were a little too salty for my liking, even when eaten with the grits.

Caesar, Brussels Sprouts,Crouton Dust, Parmesan Crisp, Traditional Dressing

If you enjoy Brussels sprouts, then you’ll likely enjoy this as much as I did. The blanched Brussel sprouts were crisp and not too bitter, paired with crunchy crumbles of croutons and some of the sweetest roasted tomatoes I’ve ever tasted. If you are like Mr. K and only eat Brussel sprouts that have been roasted and slathered in bacon fat until beyond recognition, then this dish might not be for you because the sprouts do retain their natural flavor. I had this dish mainly to myself and loved every bite. I’ll definitely be trying this at home.

Doughnut Trio
Tres Leche, Chocolate Glazed with Crystallized Mint, Cinnamon Sugar with Salted Caramel and Caramelized Bacon

We managed to save just enough room for dessert and I’m so glad we did. While this is a heavier dessert, it’s definitely a must. The doughnuts use a brioche dough base, which is a little dense, but also rich and buttery. The tres leche doughnut had a custard filling, the chocolate raspberry had a light ganache that was not overly sweet. All were enjoyable but my favorite were the cinnamon sugar dusted donut balls, which were filled with gooey caramel sauce and topped with bacon. They were so light and airy.

Overall, we had a fantastic meal here. We loved the creativity of the menu, both food and drinks. We can’t wait to return with friends so we can try more dishes. You can view the full menu on their website.

  1. It’s interesting how a few of the dishes were on really large white plates and the food was only on one small area of the dish. Lots of white space, haha. Everything looked really delicious. I loved that your drink looked like a science experiment!

  3. I really like your use of pictures embedded in the text. I t helped me to understand the food better. I want those donuts for sure!

  4. Looks like a fancy meal! I’m glad the doughnuts turned out to be a treat – I’m always disappointed when I order “house made” doughnuts and they end up being no better than a Krispy Kreme donut or a bland piece of fried dough with chocolate sauce.

    • i know what you mean! I only ordered them because I had heard really good things. My fav donut dish is the Coffee and Donuts at French Laundry, but these were pretty darn good too.

  7. Wow great pictures! I especially love the purple flowers in that drink. Oh my I wish I could try that donut. I’m in Orange County but would love to try that place out if I’m in the area for the zoo or sea world!
