Campbell’s Thai Curry Skillet Sauce and a Giveaway

Please note, this giveaways is now closed. I recently had a chance to try out Campbell’s line of Sauces that help prepare quick and easy meals. Along with this review, I am also running a $100 Target gift card giveaway, with further details at the end of this post. If you’re a regular reader, you know I’m always interested in trying to find ways to make easy meals.

Campbell’s new sauces focus on “Real Life. Real Dinner.” The line of sauces fall into three categories: skillet, slow cooker and oven. I was able to find them easily near the gravy section at Vons and they are available at many other major grocery chains as well. After much perusing, the two that really caught my attention were Thai Chicken Curry and Chicken Marsala. Both are dishes I really love and will order at restaurants, but I’ve never tried to make before in real life.

Last Sunday, I was craving Thai food, but I have a rule of trying to eat a real dinner at home on Sunday evenings. But the reality was, I was too exhausted to do much cooking and it was also extremely hot outside. Then I remembered my Campbell’s Thai Chicken Curry Skillet Sauce.

All you need to do for this chicken curry is to add chicken! As a result, this was ready in about 15 minutes. I made some rice to go with it, and waiting for the rice to finish cooking ended up being the most difficult part of this dish.

The directions on the back are straightforward. You take a pound of boneless chicken breast and slice it into thin strips. Then you brown the strips in a pan with some oil. Once the chicken is finished, you pour in the sauce, stir and simmer for about 5 minutes, and it’s done! Super simple.

I also added some green bell peppers to my dish to add some veggies in there and some fresh Thai basil.

Verdict? I was pretty pleased. I’m not quite sure which type of Thai curry they were going for– to me it tasted like the green curry commonly served at Thai restaurants in the US. It had a rich coconut flavor, a mild sweetness, and was quite spicy. This version actually rivaled many of the ones I’ve had in Thai restaurants, and at $1.99 a pack, my version was far cheaper than going to a Thai restaurant and ordering the dish.

I haven’t yet had a chance to try the other sauces so I can’t speak about those, but my first impression of the Thai Chicken Curry is very favorable and I can’t wait to try others.

How will you use Campbell Sauces to make a wonderful family dinner? Tell me in the comments and you will be entered to win a $100 Target Gift Card!

A:  Surprisingly I’ve never heard of these sauces, so thanks for the introduction and great review. I definitely want to buy & try all of them. I’m a big fan of quick and easy meals. The first one I’d like to try is the Thai Curry Sauce. I would sauté Chicken breast, Red and green peppers, and Yellow onions. Add the Sauce and let simmer.  Lastly, add Dole Pineapple Cubes (canned) and maybe some juice too. I’d serve it over Jasmine rice. We love veggies, so I’d probably serve a veggie side dish.

Wow, now I’m hungry! lol  Thanks for the yummilicious giveaway!

  10. I would make a Tai Curry shrimp dinner over angel hair pasta for a wonderful family dinner.

  191. Oh, my, what a variety. I like that the skillet sauces ‘serve two’ I usually cook just for myself so it gives me a meal and one to spare. Skillet I will go for Thai green chili cause it got the most good reviews and I like Thai, over rice , natch, and the creamy chipolte ,I think I would put in a wrap w salsa maybe? Slow cooker definately the Mexican Red Chile Taco. If cooking for guests I could do that and the chipilte w avocado salad. Yum. Moroccan spiced stew sounds good with lamb or goat meat. Hmm I’m very hungry.  Gonna rustle up some Campbell’s cookin now.

  192. Here is the link to my tweet as well. https://twitter.com/kmarlow317/status/525025772860604417

  198. Anytime I can make a wholesome meal my that my family enjoys and I don’t have to spend a ton of money or time on is always a win for me. I recently used the campbell’s scampi sauce and my family loved it! I;m excited to try more from campbells.
