Trader Joe’s October Edition

October is always a particularly a fun month to visit Trader Joe’s, especially if you love pumpkin. Even though I’m not quite as pumpkin crazy as I was a few years ago, I always look forward to see what new pumpkin products Trader Joe’s has to offer. I did pick up quite a few items on this trip, both pumpkin and non-pumpkin.

Coffee Mochi

Trader Joe’s continues to produce new flavors of mochi ice cream. I was a fan of the mango one a few months back, so I was definitely curious about this one. While I did like the intense coffee flavor, I actually wished these were a little sweeter. The bitterness of the coffee seemed to be the most dominant flavor.

Fall Zucchette Pasta

I haven’t opened this one yet, but I love the cute shapes. I’m probably going to cook this pasta with a butternut squash sauce.

Chocolate Hazelnut Cookies

I almost didn’t buy these because I haven’t really enjoyed the last few cookie products I picked up at Trader Joe’s. But Mr. K helpfully offered to eat them all if I didn’t like them. I’m glad I did buy these though because I really like them. The cookies taste like buttery hazelnut shortbread and the filling is a thick chocolate hazelnut cream. They were the perfect amount of sweetness.

Pumpkin Spice Almond Beverage

I haven’t opened this one yet, but I’m excited to add it to my morning coffee.

Umami Paste

I couldn’t resist picking up this new product. It’s a very concentrated paste that really does seem to cover a whole spectrum of flavors. It reminds me of a miso paste, but with more flavors mixed in. It tastes savory, fermented, spicy, sour, all at once. I haven’t quite decided how I’m going to use it, but I’ll probably mix some in a bowl of ramen or use it in a sauce for something I’m cooking.

Assorted Belgium Chocolate Pumpkins

These pumpkin-shaped chocolates are so freaking adorable. Every time I look at them, I squeal a little inside. Each one starts with a hard chocolate shell followed by a creamy center. I need to go back and buy a few more boxes of these.

Pumpkin Pie Spice Cookie Butter

This was my favorite item from last year’s pumpkin offerings from Trader Joe’s, so I definitely wanted to pick up another jar for this year. I really love the addition of pumpkin spice to the cookie butter spread. It’s definitely worth getting if you like pumpkin spice and cookie butter.

I also picked up a few of these to decorate the house with. I usually buy more, but I had already bought some previously at Vons.

That’s all for now. Did I miss something vital? I was planning on getting the cold pressed pumpkin juice but forgot. I might have to make another trip later this month to get that along with more of the adorable pumpkin shaped chocolates.

  1. Have you tried the Pumpkin Almond Beverage yet? It makes my coffee taste just like a Pumpkin Spice latte (although I add a splash of half and half for creaminess). Now I’m obsessed with it!

  2. If you like salad, their new Salad Palette Turkey Harvest is delicious! It contains tons of healthy veggies while still maintaining the yummy flavor from roasting.
