If you’re looking for a party recipe idea this Labor Day weekend, may I suggest these individual seven layer dip cups?

No more sharing, double dipping, etc.

It’s pretty easy to make. You just layer everything on top of each other and it ends up looking quite impressive and colorful.

I did a few small twists on the traditional seven-layer dip. I don’t like olives or onions, so I left those out and instead replaced them with crunchy bacon onion bits and cilantro. And to make the recipe a tad healthier, I actually used plain nonfat greek yogurt instead of sour cream. With so many flavors in the cup, it’s hard to tell the difference. I actually wanted to add more layers, but it was getting too tall for the cup!

For the crunchy bacon onions, I used Loeb’s Onion Crunch. They have four flavors (original, bacon, bbq and chipotle), and I recently got complimentary samples of all four flavors to try out. My absolute favorite one was the bacon one of course, which tasted great in this dip. I’ve also been using the other flavors for burgers, loaded baked potatoes, etc.

I am really happy with how the test run version came out and can’t wait to make them again. I was also happy to get rid of a bunch of ingredients in my house like a can of refried beans that has been sitting in my cupboard forever because Mr. K just had to get them and then never ate them.
