Thai Tea Ice Cream

So I’ve been a little obsessed with Thai Iced Tea lately, ever since brewing my own. After making the drink, my mind was spinning with Thai tea flavored desserts.

Before summer is over, I wanted to make some Thai tea ice cream. This looked so fluffy and soft while it was churning away in my ice cream machine.

To obtain a richer color, I used the loose Thai tea mix. I strained it a few time so no leaf residue remained. You can read more about the brewing process in my original Thai Iced Tea post.

I’ve been too lazy to prepare a custard based ice cream, though I know it would make it even better. This was still pretty good though and much easier.

  1. What can I substitute for 1/4 cup of condensed milk since I’m cutting my sugar and carbs intake.
    I love thai milk tea.
    Thanks!

    • I used condensed milk as the sweetener since that is what is typically used in thai tea, but any sweetener substitute should work. The heavy cream will already create the creamy base for the thai tea that condensed milk usually does, so if you use a sugar free syrup or even granular sugar substitute, that should work too.
