Burger Lounge’s Game Changer Burger Series

A few weeks ago, I was invited to a media dinner to try out Burger Lounge’s Game Changer Burger Series, a set of limited time seasonal game meat burgers.

Organic Quinoa Salad
Organic Quinoa, Arugula, Spinach, Kale, Roasted Baby Squash, Corn, Tomato, Red Onion, Toasted Almonds, Feta, Smoked Tomato Vinaigrette

Before digging into all the burgers, we started out with a light and refreshing quinoa salad. I’ve actually had this salad a few times here and really enjoy it. It’s one of my favorite restaurant salads and I usually don’t even like salads.

Grass-fed Bison: October 2013 – November 2013
$10.95 Served on the signature Lounge Bun with blue cheese, pickled onion, roasted garlic aioli. Gluten free bun or lettuce wrap optional.

Since we were tasting so many burgers that evening, the restaurant made mini versions for us to eat. So please note, most of these photos are of the mini ones and the actual burgers being offered are full size burgers.

Out of the three, this was my favorite. The patty was moist and still a little pink in the center. You could taste the bison meat. I also really enjoyed the crunchy pickled onions and the garlic aioli.

Half & Half
Hand cut french fries and light crispy onion rings

If you have a hard time choosing between french fries or onion rings, Burger Lounge offers a “Half and Half” option where you get half orders of each one. This is actually usually what we choose when we eat here because we do like the fries and the onion rings. The herb seasoned fries are one of my favorite burger restaurant fries.

Wild Boar: December 2013 – January 2014
$10.95 Served on the signature Lounge Bun with crispy onion rings, smoked mozzarella and house-made BBQ. Gluten free bun or lettuce wrap optional.

This was my least favorite of the three. I found the BBQ sauce a little overwhelming and it was hard to taste the boar meat.

Grass-Fed Elk: February 2013 – March 2014
$10.95 Served on the signature Lounge Bun with jicama slaw, crispy pork belly, chipotle aioli. Gluten free bun or lettuce wrap optional.

I enjoyed the elk burger though it was a tad too salty with the addition of the pork belly.  The crunchy jicama salad did add a touch of sweetness to help balance it out.

If you enjoy game meat, this is a good time to stop in and try the limited edition burgers. Here is once again the schedule of when the burgers will be on the menu:

  1. How fun to try different meats! I’ve been to Burger Lounge just once, turning Taste of Hillcrest, and it was really good. Must go back to try a full sized burger!

    • I’m not a huge fan of their regular grass fed beef burger but I like the other variations like their limited time burgers, their salmon burger and turkey burger.
