Refreshing brewed iced tea is combined with wine and seasonal fruit for a perfect party drink.

This weekend I’ll be hosting my first official house party. I’m quite excited but also nervous. I decided to make everything myself, which is a daunting task as I’ve never prepared a meal for so many people before.

I’ve been racking my brain, my recipe index and my pinterest boards for inspiration for dishes. There’s about a million things I’d like to do, but I know I physically just won’t have the time. So I’m trying to concentrate on creative ideas that are also relatively stress-free.

One item I plan on serving is Iced Tea Sangria. This is my test-run, and I loved the result. It’s also super simple to put together. All you need is your favorite tea, either red or white wine, honey (or other liquid sweetener of your choice), and fresh chopped fruit. The initial idea was given to me by Art of Tea. Their version is more kid-friendly as it doesn’t have any alcohol, but I couldn’t imagine a sangria without alcohol so made an adults only version.

I recently was sent some complimentary samples from Art of Tea. They even sent me a pretty pitcher to make their iced tea in. I’ve been using them whenever I have a large group over, like when my family was in town over Memorial weekend. I really enjoy all three fruit infused tea flavors I was given. I am going to be using the passionfruit jasmine this weekend at my house party.

I love sangrias, and this twist by adding iced tea is so delicious. I love how pretty these drinks come out with all the fruit in season now.

Since making this Iced Tea Sangria I’ve also made Iced Tea Sangria Popsicles!

Refreshing brewed iced tea is combined with wine and seasonal fruit for a perfect party drink.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh brewed iced tea
  • 2 cups white wine
  • honey or simple syrup to taste
  • 2 cups chopped fresh fruit

Instructions

  • Combine tea, wine and honey (or simple syrup) until honey is dissolved and sangria reaches desired sweetness. Refrigerate for several hours or overnight. Before serving, add in fresh fruit. Serve chilled, over ice.

Notes

Tips for Making Iced Tea Sangria
  • I used passionfruit jasmine tea.
  • You can also use red wine instead of white wine.
  • To make your own simple syrup, boil 1 cup water with 1 cup granulated white sugar until sugar is dissolved. Cool the syrup a little before adding into the tea/wine mixture. You can also make it ahead and keep it in the refrigerator until you're ready to use it.
  • My friends liked their drinks very sweet so I used between 1/2 to 1 cup of simple syrup for this recipe.
  • If you want to use honey to sweeten the drinks, I recommend heating it in the microwave for a few seconds so that it dissolves in the sangria easier.
  • For my iced tea sangrias, I used fresh strawberries, nectarines and mangoes.

  1. What type of white wine did you use?

    • For this recipe, you can use a dry or fruitier white wine – so we recommend choosing a wine you enjoy drinking on its own.

  2. Hi there,

Had a question about the tea. Do you recommend a flavored tea or do you think reg tea would taste fine? If flavored, Would raspberry or peach taste better on this combo?

Making it last minute for a birthday party and need to hit the local grocery store!

  3. I Like your site…

  4. That is refreshing looking and a beautiful drink.  Nice! 🙂

  5. The fruit in this makes the drink. So absolutely perfect for a summer BBQ!
