Simply Orange® Low Acid (and a Giveaway!)

photo of a bottle of Simply Orange® Low Acid

Today, I’m sharing my experience with Simply Beverages™ Simply Orange® Low Acid and my own personal story of why this products speaks to me.

Simply Orange® Low Acid is a not-from-concentrate orange juice, with reduced acidity, resulting in a smooth, mild taste. My main reason for wanting to try this product was the low acidity factor.

When I was 18, I found that I was experiencing a sensitive and often upset stomach and esophagus. Based on my research I found a long list of foods that many people with my sensitivities often avoid. These foods included many of my favorites, including coffee, orange juice, tomatoes and chocolate. I remember being completely devastated when I read through the food list.

For several years, I avoided this long list of  foods. I didn’t drink orange juice for 3 years! It worked for a while and then my sensitivities started again. So I started by changing around my diet and lifestyle. I started exercising daily, eating healthier. And for several years now, I’ve been able to introduce acidic foods back into my diet–as long as it’s in moderation. My sensitive stomach is not completely gone and sometimes it’ll flare up again. But for the most part, I have it under control.

(Here are some of my current favorite healthy lunch options, including avocado on wheat toast, pesto with spaghetti squash, grilled teriyaki salmon, sesame cucumber salad, cauliflower muffins and fresh fruit to end my meals.)

Because of my sensitivity to acidic foods though, I am always on the lookout for products with reduced acid, which is why Simply Orange® Low Acid spoke to me. There are not many low acid orange juice products on the market. I’m already a fan of Simply Beverages™. I love that their juices are never-from-concentrate, and contain no preservatives, colors or artificial flavors.

Sipping on this juice, I could immediately taste the difference. It tastes like fresh squeezed orange juice but with less bite to it because of the reduced acidity. It goes down a lot smoother and I was able to drink a small glass with my lunch and another small glass with dinner without any issues. Of course, each individual will react differently, so I can’t guarantee the same results for someone else. But if you have sensitivity to acidic foods, this may be a way to keep orange juice in your life. And even if you don’t have any issues with orange juice, this is still a great option because it is low in acid and smoother than regular orange juice!
