These grilled cheese burritos sandwiches are inspired by California burritos, which are very popular in San Diego. They are made with carne asada, guacamole, cheese, and French fries! So instead of wrapping it all up in a tortilla, I took all those great fillings and made them into a grilled cheese sandwich. They are a little messy, but so delicious!
1cupcooked carne asada steak, cut into small strips
3/4cupguacamole
1cupcooked French fries
Instructions
1. Spread about 1/2 tbsp butter on one side of each slice of bread.
2. Place a slice of cheese on top of each un-buttered side of bread. Add carne asada, french fries and guacamole on top of three slices of bread. Place remaining slices of bread on top, to form sandwiches. Place frying pan on stove and turn to medium heat. Once hot, place sandwiches in the frying pan, cooking the buttered sides until golden and toasty and the center of the sandwiches are melty.
