The Loop opened a few months ago in Orange County, offering a unique and fun twist on churros. Churros are shaped into easy-to-hold, giant loops and then topped with various frostings, glazes, sprinkles, cereal, cookie crumbs, and more.
The churros immediately caught my attention and we made a stop in Orange County just so I could come here, before heading up to LA. It’s been a popular spot, but we got lucky when we arrived and there wasn’t a line. Right after we got our order though, there was a long line out the door (though it did seem to move pretty fast).
You can customize your own, or choose from one of the four pre-designed ones. You can also get it “chilled” which means it is served with soft serve ice cream.
We opted to just get the churros and of course I had to get all four!
These churros were just so darn pretty. I almost didn’t want to eat them. But after a few photos, we finally dug in. The churros were fresh and warm. They are a little firmer than typical churros, but I think they intended it to be that way in order for the churros to hold up under the extra weight from the toppings and size. They actually held up quite well and were easy to bite into without them falling apart.
I had a hard time choosing a favorite as I really enjoyed them all. I slightly preferred the hazelnut and matcha ones, just because I really love those flavors.
Overall, I really enjoyed this unique twist on churros and would definitely bring friends and family here. This has been one of the most fun desserts I’ve eaten lately and I think it’s worth a stop if you’re in the area.

Those churro loops look so cool. It seems like stuff dipped in colorful cereals is a “thing” (ince cream or waffle cones, sides of macaron ice cream sandwiches, infused milk, etc). Now if only a place like this would open in San Diego! 🙂
yes it’s definitely the trend now!
