I love brownies. I love truffle chocolates. So when I saw a recipe combining fudgy brownies with chopped up pieces of truffles I knew I would love it. The recipe I found is on Two Peas and Their Pod.

I was originally going to make the recipe as is, but without the raspberries. But this weekend I needed to make brownies using a brownie mix (request for a birthday boy’s ice cream cake), so I decided to make a double batch and did the truffle brownies with a mix.

I had actually been wanting to make this recipe for weeks but I didn’t have any truffles in the house. So I added it to my shopping list. For the recipe of course. I used Lindt truffles, which I got from Costco. Because it was cheaper that way and not because I wanted to have a bunch left to eat.

These brownies were great. I loved finding pieces of truffles in each bite. It did make them pretty rich and sweet though so I wasn’t able to eat as many pieces as usual. But that’s probably a good thing.
