Bouchon Bistro Las Vegas

I had plans to visit a few places for lunch off the main strip, but all the taxi rides were getting expensive, so we decided to stay on the strip for lunch. Since I had to make a visit to Bouchon Bakery inside The Venetian to pick up Thomas Keller’s macarons and other baked goods, we decided to check out Bouchon Bistro.

There was a slight wait time when we arrived, but we were able to munch on complimentary almond tea cakes while we waited. Not a bad deal at all.

After we ordered, we were give some crusty pan d’epi (wheat stalk bread). I was surprised that the bread is placed directly onto the table (which is lined with white paper, with linen underneath). The bread was accompanied with some Bouchon jams.

I loved the bread. Crusty bread is my favorite kind. I liked it so much I bought some home from the bakery section. FH only likes soft breads though since he didn’t like this at all.

You can choose jelly filled beignets or plain ones. I chose plain ones because I’m not a huge jelly fan.

This plate of fluffy beignets lightly rolled in sugar were the softest beignets I’ve ever eaten. Each one was pillowy soft, and melted in my mouth.  I want to dine at Bouchon Bistro again just for the beignets. They were accompanied with Nutella and jam. Heavenly.

Croque Madame (Toasted ham & cheese on brioche with a fried egg & mornay sauce. Served with pommes frites)

The sandwich was big, the runny egg a definitely plus. The fries were thin and crispy. Surprisingly they tasted like McDonald’s fries when you actually are lucky enough to get a fresh batch. I feel like I’ve committed a huge offense by comparing Bouchon fries to McDonald’s, but I swear that’s what they tasted like.

Bouchon French Toast (Bread pudding style with warm layers of brioche, custard & apples. Served with maple syrup)

I’m sad to say this was a complete fail for me.  The french toast was way too sweet for my liking, and the custard made the brioche quite soggy. I only ate a few bites before giving up.

Other than the French toast, we enjoyed our leisurely brunch here. The atmosphere was relaxing, the service was attentive.  I’ll have to visit the one in Los Angeles sometime soon. You can view Bouchon’s menus here.

Of course since we were here, we decided to walk around The Venetian.

We passed by this gelato place that offers a crazy number of gelato flavors. Must try it out next time.

    • I loved the decorations of that walkpath! Hehee, I know the lobster was already cooked but I swear he was staring at me the whole time. 😉

  2. I’ve always wanted to have brunch at Bouchon Vegas. I will be sure to skip the French toast when I do 😉

    • It’s sort of hidden. Took us forever to find it because it’s in this tower far away from all the other food spots. Once in there though, I didn’t feel like I was in Vegas. The view from the window reminded me of the view from the Beverly Hills one.

  3. Wow, those Chinese New Year decorations at Palazzo are really nice! I’ve only been able to see the winter decorations, these are really a step up.

    BTW If I’m not mistaken those pom pom/balloons on the trees are at Wynn and not Venetian. 😀

    • Uh oh. You may be right. We passed by the Wynn on the way to the Venetian. I thought it was from The Venetian, but now I’m thinking you are correct.

  4. Is there a Bouchon Bistro oustide Vegas? That Croque Madam looks scrumptious! Love how the egg is runny without making the bread soggy at all. This is a very hunger-conceiving post! (If there is such a word at all lol!)

  5. Keller mentioned often enough that they use commercially available fries for consistency at Bouchon and so they are using the same or a similar vendor as fast food joints like McD.

  6. BTW, you should go to the Bouchon Bakery in Yountville – much better selection and quality than in LV or LA ( both places are rather disappointing) and the gelato place has a huge selection but a really lousy quality

  7. I’m going to Vegas for my bachelorette party and we’re planning on staying at the Venetian. How long was your wait for a table? Were you able to make a reservation? I’d like to do something fun and fancy with my bridesmaids and thought Bouchon would be fun for brunch. Do you have a suggestion that might be better?

    • Bouchon unfortunately does not take reservations for brunch. So for a bachelorette party it probably wouldn’t be a good idea. Also I feel like there are better venues for something fun and fancy for a bachelorette brunch. Unfortunately, I actually haven’t been to Vegas much in the last few years so I don’t really know what to recommend. Good luck finding a place. Sorry I cant be of more help!
