Fruttare Fruit Bars

I hope everyone is having a great weekend. And for those experiencing very hot weather, I hope you are surviving the heat and finding ways to stay cool! On hot summer days I tend to crave fruits, vegetables, sorbets, yogurts. The last two days, we indulged on Fruttate bars to help stay cool, a new product we tried out for the first time last week.

Fruttare Fruit Bars is a new fruit ice bar product that offers two kinds of flavors: ones with fruit and milk and ones with just fruit.

I was given a coupon to redeem for one free box. But there were so many flavors I wanted to try. So I went back to the grocery store again and bought two more (they are on sale too since it’s a new product).

I enjoyed them all so far. It’s hard to pick a favorite. I plan on getting some more while they are on sale.

Peaches and Milk

This reminded me of peach yogurt but without the tartness of yogurt. I like that the milk makes these fruit bars creamier, but without being as heavy as ice cream. I’m not crazy about the shape though. They remind me of otter pops and don’t really seem to look as good as they taste.

I was worried that without the milk this would taste more like a sorbet and be tart as mango sorbet usually is, but this still tasted really creamy and not quite like the plain fruit bars I’ve had before. It was super sweet and reminded me of the mango topping and syrups that they put on shaved ice.

Coconut and Milk

We really loved this one as well. And it has little coconut pieces as well.

Each box contains four bars. As I mentioned, I’ve seen them on sale at quite a few grocery stores since it is a new product. I bought mine at Vons where they are on sale for $3.50 plus if you do the “Just for U” program, there is a $1 dollar off coupon that you can add to your Vons card, making them $2.50 per box.  My first box was free because I was sent a coupon for a free box to try and possible review if I enjoyed it. I was given a second coupon to give away, which I will be doing in a quick one day giveaway on Facebook. You can read more about Fruttare and where they are sold here.

Stay cool and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

  1. You should give Chunks O’ Fruti bars a try. They’re similar but only have real stuff in them instead of weird additives. They’re available at Walmarts in Florida and Puerto Rico, Sam’s Clubs, and Market Baskets in the northeast! You can find out more at their website
