Gougeres are French cheese puffs made with choux pastry. I made gougeres for the first time a few months ago and fell in love with these savory pastry puffs. I decided to make some this past weekend.
I wanted to use gruyere cheese, but I forgot to buy some. I had some monterey jack so I used that instead. I think the monterey jack cheese was a little too mild in taste so I didn’t love these puffs as much as the previous ones I made. I was also in rush so my piping skills were off.

I’ve never heard of Gougeres before, but these look lovely and light. The only problem is that I’d probably eat them all before they got to the table.
