The Dirty Cookie is a small shop in Orange County that specializes in cookie shots. Even though I’ve already made my own cookie shots before, I really wanted to check them out.
On a typical day, they offer three flavors (chocolate chip, cookies and cream, seasonal), with gluten free options as well. They also offer a variety of flavored milks on tap like Madagascar vanilla cream and chocolate.
We visited a few months ago when the seasonal flavor was pumpkin. I ended up getting one of each. Each cookie shot will set you back $4.50 and comes with just enough milk to fill your cookie shot glass.
We ended up getting our cookies to-go and I ate them the following day. I also ended up using my own milks because I already drank the ones that came with the shots. Plus, I need far more milk to eat with my cookies than the small amount that fits in a cookie shot.
For my pairings, I paired skim milk with chocolate chip, chocolate milk with cookies and cream and pumpkin spice milk with pumpkin.
The cookie shots were very sturdy. They are a much harder and denser cookie than I typically prefer, but it does help the cookies keep their structure as you eat them.
Overall, we liked our cookies and thought they were quite pretty. However, I did find them slightly overpriced at $4.50 each. Having made them before, I think next time I’ll just stick to making my own. It was fun to try once though.
