Easter is just about here, so I thought I’d share a round up of recipe ideas from my past recipe posts. I also have a few more new recipes to share like these chocolate covered peeps.
Since I like covering things in chocolate, I thought I’d make some chocolate covered peeps. They were pretty easy to make, though a tad messy. Next time I might stick them on something before dipping them.
The idea came out of one of this year’s new candy items: peeps inside chocolate eggs.
Next year, I think I’ll make these with different colored white chocolates to make them a little more festive. Recipe is at the end of the post. Here are the rest of my Easter recipes:

And finally, chocolate covered peeps:
Chocolate Covered Peeps
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups chopped chocolate
- 2-3 tbsp oil
- about 6 peeps
Instructions
- Place chocolate in bowl and melt in microwave, about 40 seconds. Stir until smooth. If chocolate is not completely melted, microwave for an additional 20 seconds and stir again.
- Add in about 2 tbsp oil to thin out the chocolate and make it easier for dipping and coating. If you don't think it's thin enough, add another tbsp.
- Dip peep in chocolate, either by holding small edge and dipping rest of Peep into the bowl or sticking peep onto a stick and dipping. Once peep is completely coated, set aside to let the chocolate set. Repeat with remaining peeps.

I should have done that instead of buy the pre-made chocolate covered peep (sold invidually). found it when looking for that choco treasure egg (the wanna be kinder egg). i don’t really like how peeps taste, but i was willing to try one covered in chocolate. i’ll be eating it tomorrow! 🙂
Haha, my thoughts too! I also saw the chocolate egg one and I was thinking, hey it’s like the kinder eggs. And I also don’t like eating peeps, but thought they might taste better covered in chocolate. They do- though I’m still not a huge peep lover.
