Doritos Loaded

At the beginning of this month, Doritos came out with its latest product: Doritos Loaded. The product is only available at 7-Eleven.

I saw the campaign on Twitter and I was definitely curious, so a few days later, I found myself at 7-Eleven. There were several signs for the new product, though I didn’t actually see any in sight.

When I inquired about it at the register, I was told they did indeed have it, you just need to order them first and then they heat them up for you.

The Doritos Loaded come in packages of four, priced at $1.99 per box. After I placed my order, I watched an employee take out the orange triangles and place them in the toaster oven. I really like that they are heated to order.

Doritos Loaded are basically wedges of cheese that are covered in nacho cheese flavored Doritos crumbs. After being heated in the toaster oven, the exterior was warm and crispy. However, the cheese wedge itself wasn’t hot enough to be melty and flowing out like the advertisement photos.

Actual Product:

Overall? I thought these were okay. They weren’t mind blowing but they weren’t bad. At 50 cents a wedge, it’s worth trying to satisfy your curiosity.

  1. Everything with Doritos is awesome. I hope they invent doritos fries one day!

  2. Maybe you could have just ordered them as in and heated them yourself at home to make it more cheesy and gooey. Interesting they do those heated to order. I don’t know if I’m curious enough to try them haha. When I was in Florida I saw a bunch of the “test market” Doritos, I wish I had gotten some.

    • yeah i actually was wondering if i should stick them in the oven again to get the gooey melty cheese, but it seemed too much work. hehe

  3. Spot on! I thought these were unimpressive. Felt like baked instead of fried. Wasn’t hot enough – the cheese wasn’t even melt-y enough to be pulling away…
