I've been to Extraordinary Desserts several times, and you can view my previous posts here, here and here. Last weekend, I had friends visiting, so Boyfriend and I took them to Extraordinary Desserts for dessert. It always is so busy on a weekend night, so we got our desserts to go.

Here are some of the beautiful dessert offerings from that night:

Here are the desserts we ended up taking back with us.

My friends chose a raspberry danish:

Boyfriend chose a slice of Gianduia: Myer's Rum laced chocolate cake layers are married with hazelnut
buttercream, chocolate mousse, and boysenberry preserves. Crushed
pralines cover this most popular dessert.

This dessert had a lot going on.  Almost too much.  There were so many different elements, and not all of them complimented each other well.  It wasn't bad, but it wasn't my favorite.  I liked certain elements more than others.

I chose a lavender shortbread cookie:

The cookie had a thick layer of frosting on top.  I'm not crazy about frosting, so I didn't like having so much frosting on my cookie.  I thought it made it way too sweet.  I liked the shortbread cookie underneath, but I scraped off most of the frosting.

Finally, I had to get the pumpkin scone. It fit with my pumpkin themed baking weekend and it was so pretty.  I love the gold flecks on the pecans.

The scone was delicious.  Soft, most, autumn spices.  Yum!

  1. The desserts are very elaborate here. And so delicious! I rarely ever enjoy frosting so you should probably ignore me when I say I don’t like something because of the frosting.

  2. all the desserts look like they have a lot going on.. but i do like frosting usually
