I recently flew JetBlue when I went on my NYC trip. As you may know, I have an obsession with airplane food and entertainment and I’ve been wanting to fly JetBlue for a long time after hearing about it’s unlimited snacks and personal tvs.
My flight ended up being even better than I imagined. I had to keep reminding myself I was flying a regular domestic economy flight because it almost felt like I was on an international flight, especially with all the free perks.
Unlimited Snacks
At the beginning of the flight, they pass around a snack basket containing about six different items: animal crackers, gourmet nuts, chocolate chip cookies, pop chips, Doritos and Terra Blues chips. You’re encouraged to grab as many bags as you want.
Later on, baskets are placed at the back of the plane near the restrooms, so that you can help yourself to more. My favorite were the BBQ Terra Blues and the Kettle flavored popcorn chips.
Personal TVs
Each seat is equipped with a personal tv with a ton of satellite channels which you can watch for free. There are also a handful of movies which you can pay extra to view. Channels likes ESPN were actually airing live, so I was able to watch my US Open matches while flying! That was pretty exciting.
Bigger Seats
The economy seats were bigger than average, more like the ones I usually get in economy on my international flights. We had plenty of legroom.
Other Nice Touches
- They also passed around drinks almost every hour to keep us hydrated.
- Each passenger was provided with a complimentary kit containing earplugs and an eye mask.
- They passed around hot towels halfway into the flight.
We had a really good first experience flying JetBlue. We definitely plan on flying it again in the future for a trip to any city where JetBlue flies to.
I didnt even get peanuts on my United flights!
you should fly Jetblue next time!
How sweet! It’s nice to see an airline give more perks than charging you for every little thing. I don’t think I’ll have an opportunity to fly on their airline for some time, but it’s nice to keep in mind!
Yeah it definitely made the flight so much smoother. I flew to NYC a few years ago for a friend’s wedding and we flew United and it was such a crappy experience. Delays, cramped seats, no snacks other than peanuts, no tv. Blegh. I totally vowed to fly Jetblue the next time I had to go to NYC.
I’ve only flown Jet Blue once, but it was 5 years ago. I don’t remember unlimited chips, but they did have cool tv screens for each seat. Sounds like you had great service!
Hmm, I thought they always had unlimited chips but maybe not. But they do now. It’s especially nice for a long flight.
I generally fly Southwest, but now I’m going to have to give JetBlue a try!
SW is great too. I fly SW all the time, but for long distance flights, jetblue is definitely a good option!
