With one day left in 2013, I’m continuing with the tradition of counting down my favorite recipes, meals and desserts of the year.
In this post, I’m sharing my top 10 favorite recipes and the top 10 most viewed recipes.
My Favorites
These came out so cute and delicious. I made them twice for this year’s Thanksgiving holiday and plan on making them again and again.
After some pretty blah experiences with ordering popcorn chicken, this homemade version was everything I had been looking for. Now Mr. K won’t stop bugging me to make it again.
I’ve never been a huge fan of orange chicken, but I really loved this version I made. Mr. K claims it’s the best version he’s ever tasted, but I think he might be just buttering me up so I make it more often.
I always love ordering this dazzled up version of brick toast whenever I can find it, but it’s also fairly easy to make it at home. I’ve made a few version on the blog this year, and my favorite is this macaron one because of my love for macarons.
Mr. K and I are obsessed with Korean-style twice fried wings, ensuring extra crispy and crunchy chicken wings. We tried this recipe for the first time earlier this year and it’s become our go-to recipe for making fried chicken.
#5 Kit Kat Cake
It’s not the most amazing cake I’ve ever tasted, but I am really happy with with this cake’s appearance. It’s one of the prettiest cakes I’ve ever made.
#4 Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
I thought I had already found my favorite soft chocolate chip cookie until I came across this version with cornstarch. This is hands down the best soft chocolate chip cookie I’ve come across. It’s amazing in terms of flavor, texture, everything.
#3 Easiest 3 Ingredient Nutella Brownies
I love brownies. I love Nutella. These brownies are just three ingredients, super easy to make and produce perfectly chewy and fudgy Nutella brownies.
#2 4 Ingredient Nutella Mug Cake
This mug cake is only four ingredients and produces a super moist, rich, decadent cake in less than 5 minutes. It was also the start of my switch of formula of mug cakes, to reduce ingredients, calories and make more of them egg-free.
This has been my “go to” cookie recipe this year. It’s so easy to whip up the cookie dough and the cookies come out great. Chewy, fudgy, and the perfect amount of sweetness. People always seem to enjoy them when I bring them to potlucks and parties.
It was hard to choose a #1 once I narrowed it down to the final 3. The cookies got a slight edge because as a personal preference, I just really love cookies.
Top 10 Most Viewed Recipes
It’s always fun to also take a look at which recipes readers were most interest in viewing. For the most part, we are usually pretty in sync, with the most popular ones being many of my personal favorites as well.
#10 3 Ingredient Eggless Nutella Cookies
This is the eggless version of my favorite easy Nutella cookies and are equally as good and easy to make.
I created this in 2012, but it still remains one of the most popular recipes on the blog and is one of my personal favorites as well. It’s visually appealing and quite tasty too.
This recipe post is all the way back from 2010. It still remains my favorite bread recipe and I’m glad others think so too.
#7 Cornstarch Soft Chocolate Chip Cookies
This was the first version of cornstarch soft chocolate chip cookies I tried. I prefer the version I linked to above, but a lot of people have had success with this one too.
#6 5 Minute Cookies and Cream Fudge
This fudge is super easy to make and I love the look of the cookies and cream. I was really excited to come up with this idea for cookies and cream flavored fudge and I’m happy to see the positive response.
#5 Easiest 3 Ingredient Nutella Brownies
This made my top three, so I’m happy to see it was one of the most viewed recipes.
#4 Four Ingredient Nutella Mug Cake
Another one of my top personal favorites.
#3 Kit Kat Cake
While this is in the #2 most viewed spot, it’s actually the #1 most viewed of the 2013 recipes, matching my list.
#1: 2 Ingredient Flourless Cake
And coming in at #1 is my recipe from 2012, the 2 ingredient Nutella flourless cake. This is still remains the recipe I am most proud of coming up with.
