The very popular San Diego brunch spot, Breakfast Republic, recently opened a second location in Liberty Station. I was quite excited to hear the news. I’ve enjoyed my visits to the original location but always dread the long wait. The new space is a little bigger, with a nice patio, and the wait times aren’t quite as bad. Even if there is a wait, you can easily pass the time shopping at Liberty Public Market.
This new location offers the full menu of the original location, along with craft cocktails and an after hours menu between 3pm and 8pm.
Pumpkin Spice Latte
I have to confess, I’m not quite ready for pumpkin season yet, but this was one of this month’s special drinks and I love trying out their monthly specials. I really enjoyed it, finding the balance of spices to be just right.
Oreo Latte
Mr. K opted for a decadent Oreo cookie latte. I fell in love with the back of the mug and ended up buying one at the end of our meal to add to my mug collection.
S’more French Toast
I’ve had this entree before and even though there are many items on the menu I haven’t yet tried, this was just calling out to me. Warm, creamy french toast, with melted marshmallow and chocolate syrup in every bite.
Breakfast Quesadilla
This hearty, open-faced quesadilla was loaded with scrambled eggs, bacon, green peppers, tomatoes and cheese. It was served with a side of mango salsa which paired well with the dish.
Overall, we had a delicious brunch here. The food and service felt the same as the original location and we love the new space and its close proximity to Liberty Public Market.
You can also check out CC’s review here. She visited a few hours before I did and also gave me a plan for food spots to hit after brunch.

I will have to try that quesadilla with the mango salsa in the future! Looks lovely and colorful. That’s funny we both went the same day. I hope you enjoyed trying the other places. 🙂
I did! thanks for your texts. I was only planning on Breakfast Republic, but I’m so glad I went to the other two stops =)
This restaurant is on my bucket list to try before the end of the year. They are opening another location in Carmel Valley (by Westroot) so they seem to be doing well. Your pictures are beautiful !
Oh yeah! I saw their website shows several more locations. That would be great!
I was just at Liberty Public Market, but I didn’t realize that Breakfast Republic had already opened at Liberty Station. I resisted buying that mug the last time I was there, but I think I’ll give in next time.
Now I’m wondering if I should have bought a second one. Lol! Hope you get to go soon!
