3 Ingredient Avocado Bread (Keto, Low Carb)

This soft avocado bread is a great low carb or keto-friendly bread substitute. It is quick and easy to make and only requires 3 ingredients. It can be enjoyed on its own or can be used for making sandwiches.

Whether you love anything avocado or are looking for a quick bread recipe, this avocado bread is for you. It’s keto-friendly and low carb but you don’t need to be on a keto diet to enjoy it. This viral recipe is so easy to make and I’m sharing my version which I think is even easier than the original. No need to mash anything by hand.

Ingredients

  • Avocado
  • Eggs
  • Shredded Cheese

Ingredients to make avocado bread
Avocado: Make sure to choose ripe avocados so that they are soft enough to be mashed.

Eggs: Eggs act as a binder for this bread.

Shredded cheese: I used an Italian cheese blend to add more flavor to the bread. You can also just use mozzarella or parmesan.

How to Make Avocado Bread

  • Add avocados (remove seed and skin), eggs and cheese to a food processor. Pulse until evenly mixed.Avocados, eggs and cheese in a food processor

  • Let breads cool slightly before serving or making into sandwiches.

Variations

This is a great avocado bread recipe on its own but you can definitely add more ingredients for more flavor or texture. Some ideas:

  • Add sesame seeds or bagel seasoning on top for some crunch and more flavor.
  • Add dry herbs or seasonings like garlic powder, onion powder, or chili powder.

Ingredients

  • 2 large ripe avocados seeds and skin removed, see note
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups (220 g) shredded Italian cheese blend

Instructions

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  • Add avocados, eggs and cheese to a food processor and mix until avocado is fully mashed and egg is fully blended in. The cheese will still be in small pieces.
  • Divide the batter into eight equal portions and shape each portion into about 3 1/4 - 3 1/2 inch rounds on the prepared baking sheet.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the bread rounds are cooked and lightly golden on the edges. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.

Notes

  • I used Hass avocados. A large avocado weighs around 200 grams before removing pit and skin. You want to choose ripe avocados so they are soft enough to be mashed. However avoid using overripe avocados which tend to become more bitter when cooked.
  • I used a 5 Italian cheese blend but any Italian cheese blend will work. You can also use other shredded cheeses like parmesan or mozzarella.

  2. Can non dairy cheese be used?

    • We have not tested this recipe with a non-dairy cheese so we are unsure what the final result would be! We have only used an Italian cheese blend, parmesan or mozzarella.
