4 Ingredient Healthier No Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies (No Wheat Flour, Eggs, Refined Sugar, Dairy or Butter)
These no bake chocolate chip cookies are soft and sweet. The cookies need just 4 ingredients and don’t contain any wheat flour, eggs, refined sugar, dairy, or butter. The cookies are easy to make, don’t require any baking, and are made with healthier ingredients. They also store well.

These cookies really do satisfy my craving for a cookie. They make a nice healthier snack or dessert.
Ingredients
- Almond flour
- Coconut oil
- Maple syrup
- Dark chocolate chips
Almond flour: Make sure to use superfine almond flour which has a finer texture than regular almond flour. This will help create a softer, smoother cookie dough.
Coconut oil: Coconut oil helps soften the almond flour to create a soft cookie dough.
Maple syrup: Maple syrup is used to sweeten the cookie dough and help bind the cookie dough.
Dark chocolate chips: Dark chocolate chips are used to give the cookies their chocolate chip flavor. You can also substitute with other types of chocolate chips like semisweet, milk chocolate or white chocolate chips.
How to Make No Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies
- Mix the almond flour, coconut oil and maple syrup together until a dough forms.
- Stir in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed.
- Use a 1.5 tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop the dough and release onto your prepared baking sheet.
- Press down on the dough balls until they form round cookies about 1/2 inch thick. If desired, you can add a few more chocolate chips on top of each cookie for appearance. Place the cookies in the fridge for about 30 minutes to help them set.
Texture
These cookies don’t have the same texture as a baked cookie but they do have a cookie-like crumb to them because of the almond flour. The cookies are a little more delicate than baked cookies. You can also bake the cookies if you prefer a texture more like a traditional baked cookie.
Expert Tips
- Make sure to use superfine almond flour for a softer, smoother texture.

4 Ingredient No Bake Healthier Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (140g) superfine blanched almond flour
- 3 tbsp (1.5 fl oz/44ml) maple syrup
- 3 tbsp (1.5 fl oz/44ml) melted coconut oil
- 1/4 cup (40g) dark chocolate chips
Instructions
- Line a baking pan with parchment paper. Set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, add almond flour, maple syrup and coconut oil. Mix until you have a dough. The dough shouldn't be too sticky, but if you pinch some of it together, it should hold its form. If your dough seems too dry and crumbly, add a little more maple syrup or coconut oil.
- Add in the chocolate chips and stir until they are evenly distributed.
- Use a 1.5 tablespoon cookie scoop to scoop the dough. Pack the dough into the scoop before releasing to help it stick together. Release onto your prepared baking sheet, spacing each dough ball about 1.5 inches apart. Use the back of a metal spoon to flatten each dough ball until it becomes a thick round disk, about 1/2 inch thick. The cookies will not change shape, so shape or smooth the edges to how you want the final outcome to be. If desired, you can also press a few more chocolate chips on top of each cookie to make them look nicer.
- Place the cookies in the fridge for about 30 minutes to help them firm up a little. The cookies are then ready to eat. Store uneaten cookies in an airtight container in the fridge or freezer.
Notes
- You can add a little more maple syrup if you prefer a sweeter cookie.
- You can also use other chocolate chips like semisweet, milk or white chocolate chips. If you want to keep the cookies refined sugar free, use a dark chocolate chip brand that is sweetened without refined sugar. There are a few brands available that are sweetened with date sugar or coconut sugar. You can also use one sweetened with a sugar alternative.
- I used Nutiva Coconut Oil* to make these cookies.

Hi Joanna! We’re so glad you loved this recipe!!
Instead of Maple Syrup, can I use the monk fruit sweetener?
Sorry, we haven’t tested this recipe with a substitute for the maple syrup! If you give it a try, let us know how it works.
These look so good, but what would be a substitute for the coconut oil? My daughter is allergic to coconut
It may work with regular butter (melted), but we haven’t tested it out for this specific recipe
