Tender, soft and moist biscuits that are full of garlic and cheese flavor. The biscuits are low carb and keto-friendly. They only require 4 ingredients and take about 5 minutes to prepare. They are a tasty side dish.
I took my favorite low carb biscuit recipe and made them even easier. I love making these biscuits. Even though they don’t contain wheat flour, the almond flour actually adds a buttery richness to the biscuits so that you don’t miss the flour at all.
Ingredients
- Superfine almond flour
- Baking powder
- Cottage cheese
- Garlic butter
Superfine almond flour: For best results, use superfine almond flour so that the consistency and texture will be more similar to flour.
Baking powder: Baking powder helps the biscuits rise and expand.
Cottage cheese: Cottage cheese is one of the key ingredients in these biscuits. It helps create the structure for the biscuits but also adds a lot of flavor. When the biscuits bake, the cheese melts, so that the biscuit is moist with melted cheese flavor in every bite. I usually add parmesan to my keto biscuits, but I didn’t feel the need to for these.
Garlic butter: Garlic butter or garlic herb butter is a butter that has already been infused with garlic and herbs. I love using garlic herb butter for cooking because it adds so much more flavor. I used store bought garlic butter. You can also make your own. Or you can use regular butter and add about 1 tsp of garlic powder and 1/4 tsp salt.
How to Make Low Carb Garlic Biscuits
- The almond flour and baking powder are first mixed together. Then mix in the cottage cheese and melted garlic butter.
- Use an ice cream scoop to scoop the mixture into your greased muffin pan. The biscuits are then ready to be baked.
- If desired, you can sprinkle some parsley on top for garnish after they are done baking. You can also brush the tops of the biscuits with more melted garlic butter, but that is completely optional.
Texture
These biscuits are rich, cheesy, tender, soft and moist. They won’t have flaky layers like traditional biscuits. They are more like drop biscuits.

- I used Kerrygold Garlic and Herb butter (Amazon | Walmart)*. If you are unable to find garlic butter at the store, you can also substitute with regular unsalted butter and add 1 tsp garlic powder and 1/4 tsp salt to the recipe.

- Because this recipe requires a high amount of baking powder, we recommend using aluminum free baking powder to eliminate any potential metallic aftertaste. We use Whole Foods 365 aluminum free baking powder.
- Make sure you use a superfine almond flour. We used Kirkland superfine almond flour (sold at Costco).
