4 Ingredient No Bake Cottage Cheesecake
This creamy cottage cheesecake doesn’t require any baking or cooking. It needs just 4 ingredients and is easy to prepare. The cake can be made ahead of time to make for an event. It can also easily be customized.

This no bake cottage cheesecake is so creamy. It also is high protein and is lighter than traditional cheesecake because it is made with cottage cheese instead of cream cheese.
Ingredients
- Cottage cheese
- Cashew butter or peanut butter
- Honey
- Graham cracker crust
Cottage cheese: This recipe works with a high protein (14 grams per 1/2 cup serving) 4% cottage cheese. Using 4% cottage cheese will make the cheesecake creamier. If you use a low fat cottage cheese, the cheesecake will be icier. A high protein cottage cheese is also less liquidy, making for a creamier cheesecake.
Cashew butter or peanut butter: A little natural cashew butter or peanut butter with no added oils is added to keep the cheesecake creamy. I don’t recommend skipping this ingredient. Without it, the cheesecake will be icy when frozen. If you want a lighter nut flavor, use cashew butter. If you enjoy peanut butter flavor, you can use peanut butter but the peanut butter taste is strong so you don’t taste the tangy cheese flavor as much. You can also use natural almond butter.
Honey: Honey is used to sweeten the cheesecake.
Graham cracker crust: I use a store bought premade graham cracker crust to save time. You can also make a homemade graham cracker crust.
How to Make No Bake Cottage Cheesecake
- The cottage cheese, cashew butter and honey are blended until fully smooth. Pour the mixture into your prepared crust. Lightly cover the surface and place into the freezer for several hours or overnight to set.
- When the cake is set, it should be mostly solid but have a little bit of give if you apply pressure on the surface.
- You should be able to slice the cake right away, but if it is too firm, you can let it soften a little at room temperature before slicing.
Texture
This cheesecake has a texture like soft, creamy ice cream. Because it is a no bake cheesecake, it needs to be eaten chilled.
Expert Tips
- If you don’t have store bought graham cracker crust, you can make a homemade version with crushed graham crackers and melted butter.
- I don’t recommend leaving out the nut butter. It helps keep the cheesecake from turning icy when frozen.
- You can add more sweetener if you prefer sweeter.

4 Ingredient No Bake Cottage Cheesecake
Ingredients
- 2 cups (455g) 4% high protein cottage cheese
- 1/4 cup (64g) natural cashew butter or natural peanut butter with no added oils
- 1/2 cup (4fl oz/118ml) honey
- 1 (6 oz/170g) graham cracker pie crust
Instructions
- In a blender, combine the cottage cheese, cashew butter, and syrup. Blend until smooth, scraping down the sides of the machine as needed.
- Pour the mixture into your graham cracker crust. Lightly cover the surface and place into the freezer for about 3-4 hours (or overnight) until firm. When the cake is ready, the surface should feel firm but have a little bit of give if you apply pressure.
- If desired, you can garnish the cake with whipped cream before serving. Cut the cake with a sharp knife. If the cake is too firm to cut, you can let it soften a few minutes, but I found my cake was soft enough to cut right away. Serve cake while chilled. Store any uneaten cake in an airtight container in the freezer.
Notes
- Cottage cheese note: This recipe works best with a high protein cottage cheese (14 grams protein per 1/2 cup serving). My favorite one to use is Nancy's cottage cheese.* You also need make sure to use a 4% cottage cheese, otherwise the cheesecake will be icy.
