Bake Sale Bakery opened in San Diego’s East Village a few months ago.

The charming shop offers a variety of baked goods and sandwiches. The bakery is opened by restaurateur Terryl Gavre, who also owns Cafe 222 and ACME Southern Kitchen.

I was here mainly to check out the fresh baked sweets and there was a good selection to choose from.

Pecan Sticky Bun, Morning Roll, and Chocolate Croissant

Of the three, my favorite was the sticky bun. With its buttery bread base and sticky sweet glaze, this was quite yummy. I wasn’t a fan of the chocolate croissant, which I found a little dry and dense. The morning roll was pleasant, with flaky layers and raisins.

I previously had the pleasure of trying out Bake Sale’s goods when CC brought me a box of treats.

Caramel Pretzel Bar, Morning Roll, Coconut Macaroon

The caramel pretzel bar had a sweet and salty crunchy combination which was quite addicting. I enjoyed the other two as well, but my favorite was the caramel pretzel bar.

Overall, this was a nice spot to visit. There is a good variety of desserts that have a homey fresh baked taste to them. While it’s not somewhere I’d go out of my way to visit, if I am in the neighborhood, I would stop in.

For another post, check out CC’s latest visit here.

  1. This is such a cute place. I really like their morNing bun. I still want to try a few more of her baked goodies.

  2. So cute! I want one! I love the plate installation. We have a small cafe that sells baked goods but their prices are more expensive and don’t look quite as yummy;)

  3. Those goodies look delicious!
