Starbucks Secret Menu Part 2

I’m obsessed with “secret drink options” at Starbucks. Last year, I shared some Starbucks Secret Menu drinks I tried. Since then, I’ve been compiling a new list, so this is Part 2. There are no repeats in this new list so be sure to check out Part 1 where I tried out some of the most popular ones.

Please note, the Starbucks Secret Menu consists of unofficial drink combinations that have been created by baristas and customers. If you want to order these drinks, do not ask for them by name because the employees won’t know. Instead, you order it like any other drink you are modifying. My experience is that the employees are very happy to customize your drink as long as you tell them exactly what it is you want. For all of these drinks, I’ve listed what is added to them and how to order them. Again, DON’T ask for them by name because the employees will not be helpful if you do.

Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Latte
How to order: order a pumpkin spice latte and add mocha syrup (1 pump for tall, 2 for grande, 3 for venti)

My thoughts: I’m a chocoholic so this really elevated one of my favorite seasonal drinks to a new level. This is how I’ve been ordering my pumpkin lattes ever since.

Chocolate Pumpkin Chai Latte
How to order: order a chai tea latte and add pumps of pumpkin spice syrup and mocha syrup (1 pumpkin spice and 1 mocha for tall, 2 of each for grande, 3 of each for venti)

My thoughts: This year I discovered pumpkin chai latte. And once I discovered chocolate pumpkin, I made a chocolate pumpkin chai version that was really tasty. Sorry no photo, but it looks almost identical to the one above.

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Frappuccino
How to order: order a strawberries and cream frappuccino, add java chips, and top with whipped cream and mocha drizzle

My thoughts: While this did taste like chocolate and strawberries, I didn’t really love this one. But it’s mainly because I don’t really enjoy the strawberries and cream frappuccino, which taste a little too artificial and overly sweet.

Nutella Frappuccino
How to order: order a coffee frappuccino, add 2 pumps of mocha, 1 pump hazelnut (grande size)

My thoughts: Chocolate and hazelnut. This one is quite yummy and one of my favorite off-the-menu drinks.

White Chocolate Macadamia Nut Frappuccino
How to order: order a white mocha frappuccino with java chips, and pumps of toffee nut syrup (1 pump tall, 1.5 grande, 2 venti)

My thoughts: the barista forgot the java chips, so maybe that would have made more of a difference, but this didn’t quite taste like macadamia nut to me.

Tuxedo Frappuccino
How to order: Half mocha, half white mocha

My thoughts: I really like this one. White mocha is usually a bit too sweet for me, so this half/half combination is just right.

Three C’s
How to order: Cinnamon dolce frappuccino, add caramel syrup and drizzle mocha on top (1 pump for tall, 2 for grande, 3 for venti)

My thoughts: This was too sugary for me.

Raspberry Matcha Frappuccino
How to order: green tea frappuccino, add raspberry syrup (1 pump for tall, 2 for grande, 3 for venti)

My thoughts: There were really good reviews on this one but I felt like it took away from the green tea flavor I love. I guess if you don’t really like green tea, then the raspberry will likely help.

Liquid Cocaine
How to order: 4 shots of espresso, 4 pumps of white mocha syrup, served over ice

Thoughts: sorry no photos of this one. I didn’t know there was an actual name for this one until writing this. It’s actually just something Mr. K likes to order when he really needs something strong and he doesn’t like the bitterness of the espresso. It’s definitely sweet and will give you an energy jolt.

Dirty Chai Latte
How to order: Chai latte with a shot of espresso

Thoughts: My biggest dilemma with chai is that it’s not enough caffeine for me, so I was happy to discover you can add espresso to it. It makes your chai slightly less sweet, but not too bad and it gives me the extra caffeine boost I need. Now I always add espresso to my chai latte.

So that’s it for now. Hopefully, I’ll discover more creations for a post in another year. Let me know if I’ve missed any good ones! Part 1 of my list can be found here.

  1. Thanks for this post! I want to try the Nutella and the Tuxedo drinks (but without the whipped cream).

  2. All I want is them to bring over the Coffee Jelly Frappuccino from Japan. It’s a healthy sized scoop of coffee gelatin, about 1/3 of the cup, the rest the frappuccino stuff, and whipped cream. The coffee jelly is unsweetened, so it balances out the almost-too-sweet frappuccino stuff. Best. Drink. Ever. My husband mocked me for getting Starbuck’s when there were a million better coffee shops in town, but then he got the Coffee Jelly Frappuccino and has been hooked ever since. He’s back in he US for 2 years, and is still sulking that he can’t get that drink here.
A friend in the Tokyo area posted a photo of a Frappuccino he got in Shibuya that had pudding on the bottom. Pudding!

  3. Hmm I’ve only ordered the strawberries and cream frap once and it tasted a bit sour from the strawberries.

  4. Do you think the Nutella Frap could be ordered and taste the same as Mocha Frap + 1 shot Hazelnut? Or did they get rid of the Mocha Frap on the menu?

    • Hmm, good question. Mocha frap is on the menu. I don’t know how many pumps go into a normal mocha frap though. im guessint it has slightly more, which is why the recipe starts with a coffee frap.
