Nomad Donuts recently opened in North Park.
They are currently in their soft opening phase but I’ve already heard some good things about the business and I love donuts, so I couldn’t wait to check them out.
There was a small line when we arrived, but we didn’t have to wait too long.
The donut flavors change daily and on the day we went, there was quite a unique selection, including a few savory ones.
I also like that the daily donuts are displayed on top of map books, fitting in with their theme.
Here is what we ended up choosing.
Peach Hibiscus, Vanilla Bean Chocolate Cake, Maple Cake, Red Wine Pear Blue Cheese Caramelized Onions.
Each of the donuts had a cake-base.
Of the four, my favorite was actually the red wine pear with blue cheese and caramelized onions. This was a big surprise to me because I was doubtful at the idea of mixing sweet and savory on my donut, but it actually worked. The donut also smelled wonderfully from the aroma of the caramelized onions.
My least favorite was the peach hibiscus. While I enjoyed the thin layer of tart frosting, the donut base was a little too dry.
The donuts here reminded me a lot like one of my favorite donut shops, Dynamo Donuts, both in terms of the cake-like texture as well as the unique flavor combinations.
Overall, while we didn’t love all the donuts we tried, we’d love to come by again, especially after they’ve settled in. The atmosphere was very friendly and I enjoy their distinctive donut flavor selection.

I saw rumbling of this place on IG over the weekend, not just from you! Always love trying a new donut shop, the savory/sweet one sounds the most interesting to me.
It’s funny, when we were in line, a lot of people in line just were there because they saw a line while passing by. funny how word travels.
I normally don’t care for cake donuts but I really liked the texture and taste of theirs; the donut holes on the other hand were not good at all. I like their imaginative flavor pairings as well as the friendly service.
I almost got the donut holes! I guess it’s a good thing i didn’t. Yes, I love how friendly they were!
