Earlier this year, McDonald’s debuted Gilroy Garlic Fries to the Bay Area California. I was definitely curious and when I visited home a few months ago, I made sure to try them out.
The garlic fries use garlic from Gilroy, a city in Northern California that is most known for its garlic crop. They even hold a garlic festival every year. Since Gilroy is in Northern California, this menu item is limited to the Bay Area.
My brother took me to his favorite McDonald’s location and we ordered the fries. The fries are mixed with Gilroy garlic, olive oil, parmesan cheese and parsley.
I really enjoyed these. They were crunchy, garlicky and cheesy. I’ve always liked McDonald’s fries, but this preparation takes them to a whole new level and I barely recognized these as McDonald’s french fries.
I had a friend who told me they tried the fries and found them oily, but we didn’t have that issue at the McDonald’s location we went to.
We liked these so much that during Thanksgiving weekend, I asked to get them several times. I just couldn’t get enough!
I hope that they expand this across California. If you’re in the Bay Area, I think they are worth checking out.
You can find out the stores that carry them here.
Wanting to try them! Sure it tastes as amazing too
hope you get to try them!
I saw ads for this when I was in the Bay Area last month, but never got a chance to try them. The fries looked like the garlic fries at Ganglione Brothers.
aw, I hope you get to try them next time. I really liked them!
