Frost Me Café & Bakery recently opened in Little Italy’s new Piazza della Famiglia. The cafe offers an array of pastries, baked goods, sandwiches, tartines, and coffee.

The bakery (which was on Food Network’s Cupcake Wars) also has a storefront in Seaport Village where they sell their signature cupcakes. This new cafe is a full-service cafe, with a lot more food and drink options and a lovely outdoor patio.

I have visited their cupcake store a few times and really enjoyed their cupcakes so I was very much looking forward to the new cafe. I met up with my friend CC for an early brunch this past weekend.

I had a hard time choosing just a few pastries and one coffee drink, as there were so many things I wanted to try. After placing our order, we chose a table on the patio, where our food was brought out to us.

Avocado + Egg Tartine

This fancy open-faced toast was beautifully presented. It features a thick slice of sourdough toast, mashed avocado, hard-boiled egg slices, chili flakes and edible flower petals. It was quite tasty, though slightly difficult to bite through because of the crusty sourdough bread.

Turkey + Brie Sandwich

CC chose their turkey sandwich, served on a freshly baked baguette.

Here were our coffee choices. I had the lavender vanilla bean latte which I really enjoyed. The lavender flavor was very mild and pleasant.

We also each bought some pastries to-go.

I chose this Nutella croissant. I didn’t take a picture of it later when I was eating it, which I regret now because I would have loved to have shown you how much Nutella was inside. The croissant was filled with a very generous helping of Nutella. I’d definitely get it again.

I also got one of their chocolate pecan cookies. The cookie was just okay for me. I would have liked more chocolate inside.

These were CC’s goodies. She kindly let me take some pictures before she put them away.

Overall, I had a great first visit here. I loved the relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. There are a lot more items I hope to try in future visits.
