Tender steak bites are coated in a honey garlic butter sauce and served in lettuce wraps for an easy and delicious meal that can be made ahead of time for your weekly meal prep.

A few months ago, I shared my garlic butter steak bites with zucchini noodles. Since then, I have been obsessed with steak bites and this is my favorite version yet. The steak is super flavorful from the garlic butter and the honey adds just a touch of sweetness.

Steak Cooking Tips

  • I used new york strip for this recipe. Another good option is sirloin steak.
  • To sear the steak, the steak should be left to cook for a few minutes on each side rather than constantly stirring the steak.
  • Once the steak is almost cooked, add the honey garlic butter sauce. The sauce will thicken and coat the steak pieces.

HONEY GARLIC BUTTER SAUCE

The sauce is made with fresh garlic, melted butter, onion powder, garlic powder, soy sauce, and honey. The sauce is added after the steak is almost finished cooking. The sauce will thicken and evaporate as it cooks and will coat the steak bites.

LETTUCE FOR LETTUCE WRAPS

You can use almost any type of lettuce for these wraps. I prefer using butter lettuce or green leaf lettuce as they are wide enough to hold a good amount of steak bites.

MEAL Prep Storage Tips

For visualization purposes, I assembled all the lettuce wraps and places them in the meal prep containers but I don’t recommend storing them that way. If you are storing these for meal prep, you will want to keep the lettuce and filling separate.

  • I use these Meal Prep Containers*
  • Stack the lettuce leaves on one side of your meal prep container.
  • On the other side of your container, add the steak.
  • When ready to eat, remove the stack of lettuce from the container. Heat only the steak. Then assemble your lettuce wraps.
  • If you plan on freezing your meal prep, do not place lettuce into the containers.

Reheating Steak Tips

  • I reheat my meal preps in the microwave.
  • To prevent overcooking the steak during reheating, you can cook the steak to a medium rare initially.
  • I also recommend adjusting your microwave cooking power. Instead of cooking at full power, set it to around 50% power, which should heat your steak without cooking it too much.
