Shabu 21+ is an all you can eat Korean-style shabu shabu hot pot restaurant that opened last year. Despite what the name suggests, the restaurant is not limited to adults. It replaced Roadem which was a Korean BBQ restaurant.

The restaurant is similar to Shabu Works and Shabumi. Most of the items are displayed buffet-style. There is a section of ingredients to create your own sauce. There are also uncooked vegetables, noodles and seafood ingredients for your hot pot.

There is also a cooked food section, soda fountain and coffee/tea for drinks, and shaved ice bar for dessert.

For the meat, you order from a server and are limited to three plates at a time.

The meat selection is a little sparse, so if eating meat is your main goal, this may not be the spot for you.

You have a few flavors of hot pot broths to choose from. For the broth, we chose chicken and tomato broth.

I was impressed with the variety of vegetables and seafood. Also, some of the hot cooked food items were pretty enjoyable, especially their Korean fried chicken.

The staff was friendly and attentive during our visit and we had no problem getting refills of the meat plates.

Overall, we had a nice meal here. I prefer the quality and choice of meat at Shabu Works, but I think this is a good alternative if you don’t want to deal with a long wait and are craving Korean-style shabu shabu. Weekday lunch price is $19.99 per person. Weekend lunch price is $22.99 per person, dinner is $24.99 and if you wait until after 8:30 pm you save 20%.
