I love shopping at Trader Joe’s and I thought I’d take some time to highlight some of my recent finds. I don’t know about you, but I have to limit my visits to once a month because I always end up with a huge grocery bill and all I have to show from it are a bunch of random snacks.

I think their Fearless Flyer ads are genius. By the time I’m done reading through, I want to buy almost every product they’ve featured in detail. I’m pretty sure they could convince me to buy a snack made out of cardboard.

I was particularly excited with the October flyer, as TJ always does such a good job with the pumpkin themed items. This year though, they went beyond my expectations, even making a pumpkin Greek yogurt and pumpkin macarons.

Pumpkin Macarons

These are in the frozen aisle and are my favorite pumpkin item from TJ this year. There are 12 in a box, as they are mini ones. The shells are chewy with a good pumpkin taste mixed in with some spices. Technically you’re supposed to take them out and let them thaw before eating, but I always eat them with the middle filling section still frozen because I don’t have the patience to wait. No, these aren’t gourmet macarons, but they taste good and are relatively cheap.

Pumpkin Ice Cream

I got this last year and couldn’t resist getting it again. TJ makes super premium ice cream, which means it contains at least 16% butterfat, resulting in an ice cream that is extra rich and creamy. This ice cream has a lot of pumpkin spice and is really good.

Just The Clusters Maple Pecan

I discovered “Just The Clusters” cereal from TJ last year. Basically it’s an entire box full of the crunchy sweet granola clusters, without any of the flakes. Genius! Recently they came out with a Maple Pecan flavor for Fall.

Pumpkin Cream Cheese

I love pumpkin cheesecake and slathering pumpkin cream cheese on bagels. TJ’s pumpkin cream cheese tastes a lot like pumpkin cheesecake and tastes great on bagels.

That’s the end of my TJ series for now. I’ll try to do another one next month. Have a good weekend everyone!

  1. Have you tried the Pumpkin Butter? It’s like apple butter but pumpkin flavor. It’s heavenly spread on toast.

  2. Yes, you must try it! My daughter didn’t really like it. I remember my hair stylist gave me a piece last year and when I tried to look for it, they were all gone. I think it’s seasonal or something.

There are dark chocolate curls in the white cheddar cheese!

  3. Here is a recommendation since I was just at TJ’s getting last minute ingredients….

    Chocolate Cheddar Cheese.

    Yes. That’s right.

It tastes both savory and sweet!

  4. I like the Just the Clusters Ginger Almond & Cashew; one of these days, I’ll branch out and try the Maple Pecan. I put the granola cereal in yogurt. I’m not a big fan of pumpkin, but usually I want everything that’s featured in the Frequent Flyer, too. I bought a six pack of chocolate macarons from their bakery section. They’re more fudgy than delicate.

    • Oh I didn’t even see the ginger almond one! That sounds delicious. I only previous had the vanilla one. I use it in yogurt too. So yummy, like a parfait. I didn’t even know they sold fresh macarons. I only have had their frozen ones. I previously had the frozen vanilla chocolate ones and liked them.

  5. I realize this is a pumpkin-themed post, but I want to mention one of my fav seasonal TJ items: the fresh cranberry-orange mix. I’d prefer a bit less sugar, but I still buy it and mix it into plain Greek yogurt. It’s the bomb.

I’m also watching and waiting for the fruit bread to return. Makes heavenly toast. And several years ago they had a lemon bread; it was fantastic, believe it or not. Savory lemon bread. Alas, I must have been the only person brave enough to try it. As it never returned …

Finally, my fav year round item at TJs is the feta made by Pastures of Eden. Yellow and green package, from Israel.

Will try more of the pumpkin items, as recommended. ; – )

    • I definitely appreciate all the recs! I’m always looking for other TJ products I haven’t been introduced to. I haven’t yet tried any of the items you mentioned, I will have to on my next trip.

  6. Omg Pumpkin party!! I must hit TJ soon!!!

  7. i always end up deviating from my shopping list at trader joe’s! mostly snacks, especially the bbq hawaiian kettle chips and the mochi ice creams. when i saw their recent fearless flyer ads with all the pumpkin stuff, i thought about you and how you would probably go crazy with it!
