I hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday. I just wanted to share a quick post of some beautiful macarons I recently inhaled.
I love French macarons and will buy them whenever I see them. There is a small French cafe in San Diego called Opera Patiserrie that I’ve posted about before. I stop by there for fresh croissants, desserts, and of course macarons.
They sell a variety pack for about $12 and they are labeled “Parisian Macaroons.” They aren’t necessarily the best macarons, but they do hit the spot. I don’t remember all the flavors, but I believe they were chocolate, hazelnut, pistachio, cappuccino, strawberry and cinnamon.
I was eager to dig in,but wanted to take a picture before they look so beautiful with their different color shells.
After taking these pictures, I promptly at all of them. All. I wasn’t kidding when I said I inhaled them.

There macarons are very good looking, with a smooth, “flat” shell. It’s rare to see them so well made. I’m going to ask them if i can carry them. Thanks for the article! Did you know that the first macarons were made with chocolate ganache?
I did not know that, but I love ones with chocolate ganache.
looks like we have the same kind of restraint when it comes to macarons – NONE! 🙂
I usually eat them in the car. This is the first time in a while that I showed enough restraint to wait until I got home and took a photo. Hehee
