Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolates

Recently, as part of the Foodbuzz program, I was selected to try out samples of Ghirardelli Intense Dark Chocolates. I absolutely love dark chocolate, so I was pretty psyched to be chosen.

My lovely package of samples included three large chocolate bars and two bags filled with individual chocolate squares.

I really loved the packaging. The dark colors really conveyed the “intense dark chocolate” theme. The three flavors sampled were midnight reverie (86% cacao), twilight delight (72% cacao) and sea salt soiree.

I enjoyed the taste of all three and it was hard to choose a favorite. The Midnight Reverie and Twilight Delight really delivered on the promise of intense dark chocolate. The midnight reverie was obviously the most bittersweet, but had hints of cherry and other fruits. The sea salt soiree used a semisweet chocolate but had a crunch of bits of almonds and sea salt that was enjoyable.

I enjoyed the individually wrapped squares the best because it was a perfect snack bite. I don’t have as much self-control with the larger bars.  One square a day was perfect to satisfy my chocolate urges.

For the large chocolate bars, they are great for baking with. I melted some to make Nigella chocolate pudding.

  1. Oh!! Ghirardelli!! Here is no easy to find it, and I love it!! Luckily, finding Godiva is easy, and that’s my favourite!!

    • Oh really? Ghiradelli is everywhere here. Much easier to find than Godiva. Ghiradelli stores arent as common, but their products are in all the supermarkets.

  2. ooh, so lucky! free dark chocolate! my fave is the midnight soiree and the twilight delight. i haven’t tried the sea salt one yet but i’m sure i would love it. you have more self control than i do (one square? wow!)! 🙂

    • I was happy to get so many samples! Ah, too bad I finished them already (I got them a few weeks ago but took a while to get to my review), or else I’d give you some of the sea salt ones to try. I love chocolate, but for some reason I usually dont like to eat a ton of just pure chocolate candy. A few bites is good enough for me. Chocolate desserts on the other hand…Btw, my friend got back from Vegas and gave me a box of Bouchon macs! So pretty and colorful. I know i tried the ones from LA, but they didn’t have all the flavors then and didn’t sell them in boxes.
