Can you believe Triscuit hasn’t come out with a new cracker flavor since 2008 ? It’s been four years, but Triscuit has finally introduced a new flavor. And that flavor is Dill, Sea Salt & Olive Oil. And I have to say, I think they chose well.
Triscuits and I have a history. The history dates back to high school. I won’t go into the history as it’s a little embarrassing, but if you ever meet one of my close high school friends, they’ll be sure to tell you the story.
Anyhow, I recently was sent a box of the new dill flavored Triscuits to try. And I really loved them. I ate half the box before FH commented “Aren’t you supposed to review and take photos?” Oh yeah. Oops.
Well I’m glad I stopped eating them plain because then I thought of putting things on them like herby cheese spread and fresh dill and smoked salmon. The cracker flavor is perfect for these kind of h’orderves. They are stable, crunchy, and packed with dill and olive oil. You can see specks of dried dill throughout.
I spread some soft cheese and topped it with fresh herbs and the crackers tasted even better. I wanted to use fresh dill but I ran out so I put on rosemary sprigs instead. It ended up working well because the rosemary balanced the sea salt. I’ll definitely be buying more to eat by myself and to make as some finger food next time I have guests over.
Please note: I received a free box of Triscuits to try. I was not compensated for the review and my opinions are my own.
My grocery store was having a sale, buy 2, and get 3 free. I normally buy the Rosemary Triscuits, and because of the sale they were out, so I bought 3 Dill, Olive Oil, and Sea Salt.
They are very delicious, and I think the Rosemary now tastes bland in comparison.
I pair mine with string mozzetrella cheese and dry salame.
I absolutely love the dill and sea salt Ttiskets. When they first came out they were so good. Know however I think they changed something. The reason I liked them so much was the flavor of the mix of dill and sea salt. For somereason the oneni have bought lately hardly have any dill specks on or in them. They just taste bland . Now that I have read what you do to yours I might throw some fresh dill and olive oil on them and bake them.
That’s too bad that they’ve changed! Your idea to bake them sounds great – please let us know how it works!
I love dill and just found them and thought they were terrific, unlike some of the flavored ones which taste a little more chemical-ly. I think they might be the best, too, along with the originals. Just got some smoked salmon and it will be perfect on them with some cream cheese for Christmas dinner appetizers. I just hope they aren’t a temporary thing!
I like how natural they taste too for this flavor
You should try them topped with goat cheese and home grown tomatoes.
I wish I had home grown tomatoes to top them with! Heh
They’re pretty good with just sour cream on top too!
Hmm I haven’t tried that yet. Thanks for the suggestion!
I’ve always liked triscuits with cream cheese and dill on top as a snack, so dill triscuits sounds good to me.
I think it may be my favorite flavor of the Triscuit line.
Sounds delicious. I love anything with dill.
I need to grow my own dill so I can always have some available.
