This is a homemade copycat of Starbucks’ Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino. It’s made with real pumpkin, fall spices, and brewed coffee for an easy coffee drink you can make at home.
I’ve already indulged in quite a few Pumpkin Spice Frappuccinos and pumpkin spice lattes at my local coffee shop lately. But they can get pricey when you drink too many, so I’ve also made some homemade versions.
While the Starbucks frappuccino recipe doesn’t use any actual pumpkin, I added some pumpkin puree to mine to give it a real pumpkin flavor. I also used brewed coffee rather than espresso shots since not everyone has an espresso maker.
Ingredients
- Milk – I use fat-free milk, but you can use 2%, whole milk or dairy-free milk, too.
- Strong brewed coffee
- Pumpkin pie spice
- Pumpkin puree – don’t use pumpkin pie filling.
- Sugar
- Ice cubes
How to Make It
There are actually two ways to make a pumpkin frappuccino. The first one is the quick way to make it.
Place all of the ingredients in a blender. Process them at high speed until the ice is crushed.
The second way takes longer, but the texture is more like a Starbucks frappuccino.
Blend the ingredients and once the ice is crushed transfer it to a freezer container. Freeze the mixture until it’s firmed up and then blend it again. This way makes the drink thicker and also allows time for the flavors to develop.
Once the drink is blended, pour the frappuccino into glasses. Add some whipped cream and sprinkle some cinnamon over the top for garnish.
Pour into glasses and enjoy. You can top it with whipped cream and cinnamon.
Recipe Variations and Tips
As I mentioned you can make this drink with any milk you like including oat and almond milk or coconut milk.
For sweeteners, you can swap the sugar for simple syrup or a flavored coffee syrup like vanilla or caramel. Or, try using pure maple syrup or even honey to sweeten your drink.
For extra flavor, add a little vanilla extract or almond extract.
If you don’t want the ice to dilute your coffee, freeze cold brew coffee in an ice cube tray and use the coffee ice cubes to make your pumpkin spice frappuccino.
If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice mix on hand, you can mix a 1/2 teaspoon combination of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, and nutmeg.
I really enjoy the taste of this and it’s a great alternative when you want to save a little money or don’t want to go out for coffee.

Pumpkin Spice Frappuccino
Ingredients
- 1 cup fat free milk
- 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
- 1/2 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1/4 cup pumpkin puree
- 3 tbsp sugar or more to taste
- 1 cup ice
Instructions
- Blend all ingredients on high speed until mixed and ice is crushed. (If you have time, you can blend all the ingredients except the ice and freeze it first and then blend it for an even better consistency and flavor).
- Pour into glasses and enjoy. You can top with whipped cream and cinnamon.

sure! it wont be exactly the same since pumpkin spice has other spices, but if you dont like the other ones then yes you can substitute with cinnamon
