Being from the Bay Area, I've been to San Francisco countless times.  Every time someone is visiting, my family will take the person to the big touristy spots like the Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, etc. Apparently, I thought I'd been to all the main touristy spots, but somehow I missed out on Boudin at the Wharf.  My family has never paid Boudin a visit.

Last week, Baby Brother went there for the first time with some friends.  While Boudin is a chain of sour dough bread cafes that can be found in multiple locations, the Boudin at the Wharf includes a Baker's Hall and also a museum/tour.  Baby brother took tons of pictures of the beautifully sculpted bread animals made by Boudin. I was amazed by the pictures he took.  Had I known about this place earlier, I definitely would have been excited to visit and would have purchased a few of these beautiful breads.

Since I didn't actually go on this tour, I don't have much to say.  I'll just let Baby Brother's photos do the talking.

  5. I always pass by the UTC one, but haven’t tried it out. Next time I’ll try it!

  6. I’ve been to the ones in UTC and Horton Plaza. I think I like the one in UTC better, at least the clam chowder seems to always be better. The bread is comparable. Pandera is much closer to home and their bread is good, just different. Their sourdough never seems to be sour or as good as Boudin’s.
I’ve also had catered lunch at work from Boudin and loved it!

  7. I know there are a few Boudin cafes at some of the malls around here, but I haven’t tried them. Have you? Are they any good?

  8. I know right? I wonder how they get the detail on some of the more complicated ones like the alligator.

  9. I sure miss the abundance of Boudin stores. Love love love Boudin.

  10. wow… pretty cool!
