Trader Joe’s August Edition

I was going through Trader Joe’s withdrawal when the latest Fearless Flyer appeared in my mailbox. Here is what I got on my recent trip!

Bollywood Popcorn

This was one of the items I was most excited to try and I really enjoyed the popcorn. The seasoning used to flavor the popcorn does remind me of popular Indian dishes like Chicken tikka masala, just like they described it in the flyer.close-up photo of Bollywood Popcorn

Green Tahini Dip and Sauce

They had samples of this dip on the day we visited and I love the herby flavor addition to the tahini and the pretty green color. I haven’t opened mine yet. I’m still debating what to put it on!

Somewhat Spicy Dill Flavored Kettle Chips

I was really excited when I saw this featured in the flyer, especially because I’ve been a fan of their dill popcorn. However, these were disappointing for me. I thought they were too salty and could have used more spice. I guess I thought they would taste like Zapp’s Cajun Dill Gator-tators, but they did not. This has been the second miss for me when it comes to Trader Joe’s kettle chips. I didn’t really care for their sriracha ones either (the ones made by the Sriracha brand, however, which I found at Tokyo Central market, are spot-on).

Salted Caramel Coconut Cookies

These are supposed to be like coconut macaroon cookies with a salted caramel center. I didn’t really enjoy these though because the coconut macaroon cookies were missing the chewy texture which is what I enjoy most about a coconut macaroon.

White Peaches

While these were not in the flyer, they were on display right in front of my store and I couldn’t resist. These are some of the prettiest white peaches I’ve seen this season and they were selling each box for $4.99. The peaches were very sweet.

That’s it for now! Let me know if I missed out on something essential that I need to go back for!

  1. I have to agree on the dill pickle chips and I was hoping it would be like the Zapp’s too. I haven’t tried any of the other things but may need to make a trip so I can try the green tahini dip.
