Kirbie's Cravings

Trader Joe’s January Edition

Trader Joe’s didn’t issue their usual monthly Fearless Flyer in January but they did come out with quite a few new products. Here are some highlights from my latest Trader Joe’s trip.

Gummy X’s and O’s

These gummy candies are so adorable! They are a lot softer than the typical gummy candy. I didn’t really care for the taste of the berry (red) or grapefruit (white) ones.

Churro Bites

I was really curious to try these baked churro bites. I have to confess, they weren’t exactly what I was expecting. They reminded me of the breakfast cereal I ate growing up.

The base of the churros are corn puffs. They are coated in a brown sugar glaze and topped with a lot of cinnamon. They taste like a cross between Corn Pops and Cinnamon Toast Crunch. I only had a few but Mr. K really liked them and has been snacking on them.

Cocoa Almond Cashew Beverage

I haven’t opened this one yet but I am definitely excited for it as it combines so many ingredients I love.

Creamy Tomato Soup Seasoned Crackers

These crackers are made of brown rice and oats. They are light and very crunchy. The tomato soup flavor is subtle, but present. I really enjoyed snacking on these.

Mango Juice

I don’t believe this is a new item but it’s my first time trying it. The juice is made from carabao mangoes which are known for their sweetness. I quite enjoyed these juices as they tasted like pure blended mangoes.

Rhubarb & Strawberry Soda

My favorite two new finds from Trader Joe’s this visit were this and their Lemon Elderflower sodas. I don’t drink a lot of soda generally but I enjoy them when they involve more unique flavors. These sodas are not too sweet. You first taste the tartness of the rhubarb and then the drink ends with a sweet strawberry finish. I also love that the soda is a blushing shade of pink.

While I prefer the Rhubarb & Strawberry, my husband prefers the Lemon Elderflower. This one has a light and floral flavor to it. I enjoyed them both and we’ll definitely be getting them again.

Belgian Chocolate Hearts

Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Trader Joe’s has released these beautiful heart chocolates with a praline center. I adore most of the Belgian chocolate sold at Trader Joe’s and quite enjoyed these as well.

That’s all for now! As always, let me know if there’s something I missed that I should try on my next shopping trip. I already know I need to go back to get the coconut sesame seed clusters and deep dish chocolate chip cookie.
