Trader Joe’s September Edition

Sharing my September grocery haul from Trader Joe’s, including some new products and Fearless Flyer items like Cinnamon Bun Spread, Everything But the Bagel Seasoning Greek Yogurt Dip, and Fall Leaf Tortilla Chips. I also have a low carb section near the end of this post.

Trader Joe’s Cinnamon Bun Spread
This sweet spread really does taste like the cinnamon swirl of a cinnamon bun. I love that you can see the specks of cinnamon inside the spread.

Trader Joe’s Fall Leaf Tortilla Chips
I always look forward to the Fall items Trader Joe’s has to offer. These tortilla chips are so cute with their leaf shapes and different colors. I especially like that the colors are created with vegetable powders rather than artificial dyes.

Trader Joe’s Corn on the Cob Popping Corn
This was a new product a few months ago but it was completely sold out by the time I went to my local Trader Joe’s. Now it’s finally back! The concept is very fun: popcorn is popped directly off of these little corn cobs.
Inside, you’ll find a cute little corn cob and a popcorn popping bag with instructions for how to pop the popcorn. Since the corn is popped in the bag in the microwave, you don’t really get to see the fun action of popcorn popping off the cob.
While I followed the directions, quite a bit of the corn on my cob never popped and about 1/3 of the corn that did pop was burned. I’m going to try using a lower wattage next time to see if I can get better results.

Trader Joe’s Super Sour Scandinavian Swimmers
I can never resist trying new gummy candy, especially sour gummy candy. I didn’t think that these were super sour, but I still enjoyed them. They start out with a little punch of sour which quickly dissolves to a soft sweet gummy interior.

Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Bisque

With the weather cooling down, I’m ready for all the soups! This seasonal pumpkin bisque is creamy and sweet.

Trader Joe’s Autumnal Harvest Soup
Another seasonal soup! I love that this incorporates so many of my favorite fall flavors, including butternut squash, pumpkin and tomatoes.

Trader Joe’s Butter Toffee Pretzels
I was really curious about this one after falling in love with the dark chocolate covered pretzels. These pretzels are lightly coated in butter toffee adding a little sweet and saltiness to each bite. I quite enjoyed them, though I prefer the chocolate covered pretzels.

Trader Joe’s Pound Plus Dark Chocolate
This item has been around for as long as I can remember and it’s one of my staples. I always try to use high-quality chocolate in my baking recipes. It can get pricey, but Trader Joe’s sells blocks of Belgian chocolate for a great price.

Trader Joe’s Light Ice Cream: Joe Joe’s Cookies & Cream

Trader Joe’s recently came out with their own line of light ice cream. I always love trying light ice creams and have tried several brands so I was very curious about Trader Joe’s version. I found the ice cream hard to scoop and even let it sit out and thaw for a bit. It wasn’t as fluffy as many of the other light ice cream brands I’ve tried. The ice cream did taste creamy and it sufficiently satisfied my cookies & cream ice cream cravings, but I was a little disappointed with the texture.

Sweet Rose Coconut Whipped Topping
This is another seasonal return. I make coconut whipped cream all the time and it makes sense to have a convenient non-dairy topping available during the holidays to add to desserts. I did find it to be a little too sweet for me.

Low Carb Products at Trader Joe’s

Trader Joe’s Everything But the Bagel Greek Style Yogurt Dip
I loved this dip. It reminded me of a healthier French Onion Dip. The Everything Bagel seasoning gives this dip a lot of flavor and the Greek yogurt makes it creamy, tangy and light.

Trader Joe’s Smoked Salmon Dip
Another dip I couldn’t resist picking up. This item isn’t new but it’s the first time I’ve tried it. I was expecting something a little more savory and smokey. The capers add quite a bit of tanginess to the dip.

Trader Joe’s Raw Whole Cashews
Not a new item, but one of my favorite nuts to get at Trader Joe’s. I first tried raw cashews at Trader Joe’s a few years ago and immediately fell in love. The nuts are naturally crunchy and sweet. I’ve purchased raw cashews from a few other stores and they aren’t always as crunchy or sweet, so I prefer the Trader Joe’s ones.

If you are on a strict low carb diet, keep in mind that cashews are a little higher in carbs compared to most other nuts. However, as long as you portion it out, it can work on most low carb diets.

That’s all for now! Trader Joe’s introduced quite a large number of new products for the Fall, so I will be sharing some more in my October haul too. You can read all my previous Trader Joe’s posts here.
